Curzon Ashton’s run is ended in injury time

Curzon Ashton’s amazing 17-game unbeaten start in Evo-Stik North was finally halted by a goal scored six minutes into stoppage-time as they fell 2-1 at AFC Fylde, writes Tony Glennon.

John Flanagan’s Tameside Stadium table-toppers were on course for a 15th league win when leading through Matthew Kay’s deflected strike with just eight minutes left.

But Richie Allen then put the big-spending Seasiders back on terms before Michael Barnes smashed in a last-gasp winner during time added for an injury to Curzon keeper Josh Ollerenshaw.

The Nash nevertheless remain two points clear in pole position as second-placed Skelmersdale also lost 2-1 at Woodley Sports, for whom Jordan Stepien and John Marsden scored.

Elsewhere, there were wins for Trafford, Salford, Radcliffe and Witton, but Mossley and Warrington each had their games rained off.
