FC United will travel to Brighton in the second round of the FA Cup after the Seagulls defeated Woking on penalties on Tuesday night.
The Rebels earned their place in round two with a memorable victory over Rochdale and must now conquer League One opposition again for a potential glamour tie in round three.
Meanwhile, FC United are cashing in on interest generated by their FA Cup heroics as fans flock to support the club's ground-breaking community share scheme aimed at raising £1.5m of the £3.5m needed to pay for a proposed new 5,000-capacity stadium in Newton Heath.
The Evo-Stik Premier outfit, who banked £113,000 in prizemoney and TV revenue from their record-breaking run to the second-round, have announced that investment in the shares has already topped £500,000 – just six weeks since the scheme was launched.
FC’s general manager Andy Walsh said: “We’re delighted with the response to the share issue, which is attracting both ordinary fans and wealthy investors alike.”

"Manchester approve plans for FC United stadium
James Evison
Manchester city council have approved plans to build a new stadium for FC United of Manchester - the controversial club created in the wake of Manchester United's takeover by the US-based Glazer family.
The non-league club, formed in 2005, have drawn up plans for a 3.5 million-pound, 5000-capacity stadium at the Ten Acre Lane sports centre in the city.
The club's business plan was approved by the council - who own the site - earlier this week, and will now go out for consultation with the local community.
General manager of the club, Andy Walsh, told the Press Association: 'The significance of this location is historical while it also showcases a new model of facility development, based on football supporter ownership and community involvement.'
FC United currently play home games at Bury's Gigg Lane ground. If the stadium is constructed, it could see action by as early as the start of the 2012-13 football season.
Forza FCUM
What's next on the agenda? FC United plc?
It is Sunday now and know what? YES FC United lost again yesterday eeerrrrmmmm why no match report?
I wonder how the M/C City council can justify the £800,000 grant paid to FC United when they continue to dwell in the lower regions of non league football and just live off the name 'nited'
They have no potential apart from the unjustified grant never mind no HISTORY whatsoever so why do they recieve all this attention?
Abbey Hey FC - Maine Rd FC just two north West clubs more deserving than the upstarts from Newton Heath (dont make me laugh)
That waste ground on ten acres Lane would be better used if houses or community centres were built for the local people not a glory hunting football club who are well above their station!
Ted Knotted. I'm not sure you will understand this but for arguments sake I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt. The money Manchester City Council are putting in is based of the projected maintenance cost the City Council would have paid over 5 years on the existing run down facilities at Ten Acres Lane. The projected costs are based on FC United taking occupancy in 2012. Once built the maintenance costs for the new community facilities will be paid by FC United of Manchester. So in terms of lifecycle costing the City Council will be making a profit in real terms by 2017 plus the local community will benefit from the new community facilities. It’s a win, win situation for the City Council and Newton Heath.
Darlo13 --- for the record Maine Rd F.C. was formed 55 YEARS ago not FIVE years ago hence the justification into the UPSTARTS theory --- whats up Darlo is the beer in the Golden Lion still BITTER as well ---Lol....
Running man ---Principles my A--e! what does any fan supporting such a glory hunting short lived football club living off the name 'nited' know about morals?
Furthermore the clued up City fans you work with are just probably being easy on you showing you such courtesy because every City fan I have spoken to regarding FC United have shown little or no respect to the upstarts of non League football.
Its either a figure of imagination or perhaps fabricated nonsense on your behalf desperately trying to achieve oneupmanship on me.
Finally I just wonder if you have any sympathy with the other local football clubs in the Gtr Manchester area who have been overlooked and neglected where FC United have unjustly got 100% attention,do you not think these council grants or whatever should have been shared around to help all our local clubs? No I dont suppose you will and in truth I dont know why I am taking the trouble in corresponding with such self divine righteous bigots..... thank you....
At today's Planning and Highways committee meeting held at Manchester Town Hall at 2.00pm the committee found in favour of the plans for FC United's Stadium at Ten Acres Lane. There was one objection from a Judo club who want to use the sports hall and a second about something that had noting to do with the proposed development (lol) I wonder if that was Ted the Bitter? Other than this it was practically a formality. Full steam ahead to Newton Heath. Viva la revolution, C'mon FC.
Once Fc get their own ground, New supportes will watch fc and to you lot ,MUFC will be a thing of the past.. As Fc progress they will treat united as another club and I suspect will join all the ABU brigade. I maybe far from home but united forever ever in my heart.
Theres only one united.

The Running man --OK then you are a glorified pub team, satisfied now?
Do you remember a football club called Colne Dynamoes their owner was a multi millionaire who had visions of emulating Blackburn Rovers and Burnley F.C.
They disappeared into oblivion or for a better phrase - blown out of the water!...
However on reflection in this case the upstarts are merely on an EGO TRIP - Get it now! Lol.....
