FC United v Guiseley postponed

FC United's Unibond Premier League fixture at Guiseley scheduled for midday on Sunday has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

The Rebels return to action on Boxing Day (3pm) when they visit Ashton United.

Directions: From Manchester City Centre (Fairfield Street): Depart on Fairfield Street (B6469). Continue onto Ashton Old Road (A635) for 2.89 miles. Continue onto A635 for 0.81 miles. Turn left onto Lumb Lane (A635) for 0.09 mile. Bear right onto Droylsden Road (A635). Continue onto A635 for 0.01 miles. Bear left onto Manchester Road (A635) for 1.10 miles. Bear right onto Park Parade (A635). At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Park Parade (A635). At the roundabout, take the first exit Park Parade (A635). Bear left onto Cricket’s Lane. Bear left Cricket’s Lane. Turn right onto Penny Meadow (A670). Turn left onto Whiteacre Road (B6194). Turn left onto Queen’s Road (B6194). Turn left onto King’s Road. Turn right onto Rowley Street. Turn right onto Surrey Street.

From M62: Exit at Junction 20, take A627M to Oldham exit (2.5 miles). Take A627 towards Oldham town centre. At King Street Roundabout take Park Road. Continue straight onto B6194 Abbey Hills Road. Follow A6194 onto Lees Road. Turn right at the Stone Cross Memorial and then first right into the ground.

From M60: Exit at Junction 23, take A635 for Ashton town centre. Follow by-pass to B6194 Mossley Road. At traffic lights turn left into Queens Road, continue onto B6194 Lees Road. Turn left at the Stone Cross Memorial and then first right into the ground.

There is no car parking at the ground.

By Rail: Nearest Railway Station – Ashton-under-Lyne. Please check with train operators for exact timings.
By Bus: Nearest Bus Station – Ashton-under-Lyne. Bus service to ground via number 39, 331 or 333 services (services at 20 minute intervals) – Approx 10 minutes journey time.

Why doesn't the board ante up and pay for an artificial pitch for Gigg Lane. We ain't going anywhere anytime soon and the coffers must be full.
