FC United Cup game called off

FC UNITED'S UniBond League Challenge Cup match at Kendal Town has been postponed following a pitch inspection.

Standing water was found on various parts of the pitch at the Lakeland Radio Stadium, with further heavy rain forecast for Tuesday afternoon prior to the game.

The match has been rescheduled for Tuesday, December 8, kick off 7.45pm.

The good news is you won't have to wait until 8th December to see FC United take on Kendal Town because Kendal are coming to Gigg lane Bury, BL9 9HR this Saturday 28th November 2009 to play Fcee in a UniBond Premier Division league match. Naturally the Kick off is at 3.00pm. Entrance is POTG £7.50 adults, £5.00 Concessions and £2.00 U18's.

Gutted at the postponement of this game as we cant continue the debate on why FC are so bad until they get beat on saturday now.
Vegas - I see Phil M cumbria is keeping a low profile now because the muppet has no chance of winning his bet with you and no intention of paying up either - Typical FC fan, all mouth and trousers.

On second thoughts, FC will have been relieved with this postponement as it gives you a defeat in hand. Sounds like the postponement is the best result you have had all season.

POTG means Pay-On-The-Gate. It's when you attend a match in person and cheer on your team instead of picking holes in the affairs of a club 6 divisions below you.

So glad it's not just us that are obsessed with FC.

I am not and never will be your mate. Dukinfield is a former Cheshire town in Tameside. It is not and never has been a part of the City of Manchester where I come from. I have no problem with Tameside but that is a fact. Fc United is and always has been based in the City of Manchester, Ancoats to be precise. We play most of our teams at Manchester College former MANCAT where Margy is a tutor. The first team plays home games at Gigg lane Bury because it's the best deal we can get on a ground share until our own ground is built in Manchester. That is also a fact.

Went to a match at the Bitterdome a couple of years back with a city-supporting mate. Was most amused as we went along a long line of coaches. They were from ALL OVER the place - anywhere but Manchester ! And no, it was nowhere near where they park the away coaches. My mate was most embarrassed - wound him up for ages after. Great stuff.

Look mate, I dont want to get into a big disagreement with you but if you look closely on the map, Dukinfield is well within the boundaries of Greater Manchester. With all due respect in comparison, FC have no home to speak of, no ground despite telling the world you are having one built but as yet not come up with the money or land/planning permission to achieve it, no real identity other than you one you have chosen to peddle when associating yourself with Manchester (A little bit like your big cousins over at the swamp).

Fuzzy wuzzy brain - I would never ever refer to Munich Jibes, I respect the fact that the great Frank swift also died in that tragic air crash and to suggest so is nothing short of disgraceful. Anyway, what has Munich or Man Utd got to do with the debates and banter we have on this page regarding FC Utd? - shame on you, it sounds like you have a proper chip on your shoulder.

Ps: City will win something however long it takes as FC in my opinion will never ever get into the football league, Id worry about the fact you might get relegated this season and I guess its FC's poor form and league postion which is creating all the tension amongst you all right now.

Duki B. 5 out of 15 posts on this thread. I rest my case.:-)). Explain why you think i'm bitter, i'm actually laughing at you! FC United fans by disposition are a very happy bunch. What is there to be unhappy about as in our short existence we've already won 3 or 4 trophies, we own our own club (soon our own ground) and we don't get extorted in the process. We are winners and have loved every minute. Go on all you like about us, call me childish names (simple Simon ooooooh!), but i can guarantee i'm smiling after every match i see FC play. Before all this i saw MUFC win all there was to win in the flesh many times. All you have is continuing angst about your manager and continually showing what an immature imbecile you are on here. Who's better off, who's bitter?

The use of the word fact 3 times and not one of them are facts!! Karl Marginson delivered food to the elderly but doesn't do that anymore. It WAS a fact but no longer is. I'm happy to state that he was delivering food so why do you think it bothers us? We joke about it as well. Second fact you are wrong about is the ground. We have a very healthy development fund growing by the year and have approached MCC for suitable sites which they have agreed on. The only thing we comment on is your insistence on posting lots of stupid posts (usually accompanied by childish insults) about us which we laugh at (well i do). Third fact is you state we have no identity but you continually contradict yourself on this by your continuing interest in us. You're on you're own out of thousands of City fans so don't you see the irony? So you don't like us, clear to see, but what is your point? Do you think it will make us go away? It's all a bit wierd mate. (Cue reposte with some Simple Simon comments- Yawn.zzzzzz)

After the thrills and spill of the FA Trophy last week, its back to league action with Kendal Town the visitors to Gigg Lane. Revenge is in the air as the FCUM attempt to reverse the 1-0 defeat at the Lakeland Stadium in September. Kendal currently lie in 7th position and so the boys in Red will need the backing of the famous Gigg Lane atmosphere to cheer them onto victory. So, get yourself to that football ground. It's the usual 3pm start on a Saturday...it's only natural! CYCM, and The Main Stand Inn are open as usual. Usual admission prices apply Adults £7.50 Over concessions £5 Under 18s £2

Next up, Whitby Town FC v FC United, Saturday 5th December 2009, Kick off 3:00pm. This game is to be played at Whitby Town’s, Turnbull Ground, Upgang Lane, Whitby, North Yorkshire, YO21 3HZ. Admission POTG Adults £7.50, Concessions £4.50, Children £2.00

Directions By Car: From The South Travel North on the A1M leave A1M at Junction 45 Joining the A64 signposted York, Follow A64 to Malton by pass, join A169 signposted Whitby, Pickering, follow A169 through Pickering and Sleights to the A171 where you should turn right towards Whitby, turn left at B1460, keep left then turn left after passing a filling station on your left signposted West Cliffe ( this is love lane ) at A174 turn right (this is upgang lane) the ground is on your left. From the North Travel south on the A19 and join the A171 sign posted Whitby, follow A171 bypassing Guisborough to junction with A169 from where directions are as above.

By Train: Takes approximately 4 hours 10 minutes from Manchester Piccadilly (change at Middlesbrough), followed by a 15 minute walk. Alternatively (saves 30 minutes) Piccadilly to Malton takes 1 hour 50 minutes from there catch the number 840 Coastliner 1 hour 20 minutes to Whitby. Our opponents on Saturday 12th December will be Retford United, not Matlock Town. Matlock Town have progressed to the first round of the FA Trophy on 12th Dec and so the League has brought forward the Retford United fixture to that date. Usual admission prices will apply and all the events planned for the 12th and usual facilities will be available. The Matlock Town home fixture is now scheduled for Wednesday 31st March 2010.
