A BRAVE second-half fight back was not enough to save FC United as they crashed out of the FA Trophy at home to Harrogate.
The visitors cruised in to a 2-0 lead before half time and then added a third shortly after the break, but a rousing final half-hour from the Rebels saw them pull two back courtesy of a Simon Carden double.
However, despite throwing everything at the Sulphurites in the closing minutes, FC were unable to force a replay.
A miserable first half for the Rebels was compounded when Phil Marsh missed a penalty with Harrogate 2-0 up.
FC also began the second period poorly, and slipped further behind before Carden turned home Rob Nugent’s header from a corner to make it 3-1 in the 63rd minute.
Midfielder Carden then capped a fine team move for his second of the afternoon with six minutes remaining, but Harrogate held on to advance to the first round.

FC have played 5 games less than the teams in 2nd. & 3rd. place, and if they win those games in hand, they would go above them.
A little bit of 'Cup Glory' is good, but let's get the league position sorted out now.

a) Near the bottom due to playing less games
b) Playing 'crap' football - have you been watching or don't you know ?
c) Getting beat easily ? At least we have WON recently, unlike City lol
d) We WILL have a ground of our own soon - and not a council house one.
e) City managed by an ex-Red. And NOT for the first time.
In our short history, FCUM actually HAVE won the league ( more than once! ) ... and a few Cup as well.
I think you have to go back to 1976 to make such a claim about your lot.
I think 1976 was the last time

as for fc, we have been poor for a while, the last 20 minutes on saturday was good but the game had been won by harrogate who could/should have scored more. the defence is awful, i never have any confidence in it
i don't know why adam carden has left nor do i know why carlos roca keeps getting picked ahead of him

Non-league matches are fine if you can admit what they are and enjoy it. Most of the nonsense from FC Supporters and their board are just impossible to rationalize. FC is a non-league club with a fan base of less than 1000, but more if the tickets are free. A pure shoe string budget for players and management. You would think that if FC was such a wonderful "franchise", more local Manchester businesses would be lining up to sponsor the club. FC United claims such a large supporter base, but where are the supporters (both individual and local businesses) when it comes to buying tickets or financially supporting the club?? They see FC for what it really is.
