FC United slumped to defeat at North Ferriby in the Unibond Premier League on Tuesday night.

The Rebels never recovered after falling behind in the first minute when North Ferriby captain Paul Foot rose unchallenged to head home from a corner.

The home side should have doubled their lead soon after but striker Alex Davidson blazed over with only Sam Ashton to beat.

Ben Deegan spurned FC’s best chance of the first half five minutes before the break as his effort was tipped over the bar.

FC were handed a golden opportunity to equalise just after half time as Phil Marsh was brought down in the area, but Carlos Roca hit the post with the penalty.

The below-par Rebels failed to create any other clear cut chances throughout the second half and were reduced to ten men in injury time after Dave Neville was sent off for a second bookable offence.

This was always going to be a tough one after Saturday's efforts. The coach only made it with 45 mins to spare as well. Dave Neville played up front for some reason which is an odd tactical move by Margy:-o. This is a wierd league as Ashton Utd are currently top with a minus one goal difference and we are 17th with plus four! Ah well, back to cup football this weekend up at Lancaster!!

Another visit to the Giant Axe. Excellent. We had a great day there last time despite losing. Two of their stewards collared us on the way out and asked "Do your fans EVER shut up ?" After we confirmed that "No, we don't" they both said (and this was two guys probably in their 50's) "We've never seen or heard anything like it - at two goals down your only reaction was to get even louder." These sort of comments are typical of course on our travels. Makes you proud to be part of it all.

It's the first time they have ever scored against us and they made it count. We don't seem to be able to get going on the further away midweek league games. It wasn't until the second half the team looked something like the way we have played recently. All in all it reminded me very much of our performance against Worksop. Anyway enough of that, upwards and onwards. Bring on Lancaster

FC United of Manchester’s 2009 AGM is to be held on Thursday 29th October 2009 at The Central Methodist Hall, Oldham Street, Manchester. Registration opens at 6:30pm for a 7:30pm start. The formal notice, notes and ballot forms have been sent to all members either by post or by email. If you are a member and you have not received the AGM details please contact the office on 0161 273 8950 or email office@fc-utd.co.uk before 12 noon on Thursday 29th October 2009. Only members over the age of 16 are able to attend and vote at the AGM. Members are required to sign in on arrival, where you will collect your voting form. Please bring with you the explanation booklet that came through the post with the notification of the meeting. Members are also asked to bring with them their membership card and some form of identification. Parking:There is no parking at the Methodist Hall, although there are a number of pay and display spaces in the surrounding streets that are free after 6pm. The nearest 24 hour NCP car park is the Arndale on High Street or Tib Street. note the NCP car park on Church Street closes at 10pm.

Next up, FA Trophy. Lancaster City FC v FC United, Saturday 31st October 2009 Kick Off 3:00pm. This game is to be played at Giant Axe, West Road, Lancaster, LA1 5PE. The match will be pay on the gate, £7.00 adults, £5.00 concessions, £1.00 small children (free when accompanied by a paying adult). In the event of a draw the replay will be on Wednesday 4th November 2009 at Gigg Lane, Bury.

Travel: There are road works both on the M6 and in Lancaster so leave plenty of time for your journey.

Approaching from the South: Exit the M6 at junction 33 and follow the A6 in to the centre of Lancaster. On entering the one-way system stay in the left hand lane and turn left at Waterstones bookshop. Continue along this road until you pass the railway station on the right, continue over the railway bridge then turn 1st right. Follow this road round a left hand bend, down the hill and Giant Axe is on the right hand side (about 100 yards).

From the North: Exit the M6 at junction 34 and continue towards Lancaster. Head in to the city centre, moving in to the right hand lane. At the top of the one-way system, just past Kwik Fit, stay in the right hand lane to loop over move on to the North bound one-way system. Move across in to the left hand lane. Turn left at Waterstones bookshop. Continue along this road until you pass the railway station on the right, continue over the railway bridge then turn 1st right. Follow this road round a left hand bend, down the hill and Giant Axe is on the right hand side (about 100 yards).

Train:If you are arriving by train, depart from the station via the door on Platform 3. Turn right and follow the road round to the left and down the hill until you arrive at Giant Axe (about 100 yards on the right).
