However, I do not think that FC should go all-out against Stalybridge (the fatigue would hurt our league form). That's why I suggest holding it out for the first 45 minutes and start attacking in the second half.

Cup Fever! Well, it has to be! The furthest that FC have ever got to in the FA Cup and the fans have asked for it to be a 70's day What more do you want? Well, there's the opportunity to see FC play a first competitive match against Conference North opposition for starters. Stalybridge Celtic are our opponents and memories will be re-kindled of the first appearance of a certain Mr Mystery who attained cult status amongst the FC faithful. For many that was the first time that they thought that this thing of ours was really achievable. Who amongst that th! rong, crowded under cover that day, can forget their first taste of FC's famed 90/90 where 90% of the crowd sing for 90 minutes?
Back to this Sunday's 3rd Round Qualifier. Stalybridge will be in confident mood after putting 7 (yes, seven) past Stocksbridge in the last round 2 weeks ago. They are managed by a shrewd practioner at this level, Steve Burr. Margie and the boys will be equally confident after 8 goals in the last 2 matches and they will be keen to pit their wits against the higher tier team. All that's needed to make it a truly memorable match in true 70's style is another 90/90 performance on the terraces to roar the lads on. CYCM, and The Main Stand Inn are open as usual. Unusually it’s a SUNDAY, but it’s still 3pm and it’s still Gigg Lane.
