Pace ran a personal check on the Spireites in their 3-2 defeat at Bradford on Tuesday and was hugely impressed by their highly-rated front two, Jamie Ward - a £100,000 buy from Aston Villa - and Jack Lester.
With such a potent pair to contend with, he fears it would be fatal for his Blue Square North part-timers to sit back in the hope of holding out for a replay.
He insists that Droylsden's best chance of adding Chesterfield's scalp to that of their League Two rivals Darlington lies with them playing to win at Saltergate.
Pace said: "I honestly think Chesterfield are a better side than Darlington despite lying nine places below them in the table and their two lads up front in particular are a real menace.
"If they have a weakness, it's at the back and it's this we have to try to exploit.
"If we can score first and get the crowd on their backs, we could have a great chance.
"But for us simply to go to Chesterfield hoping to bring them back to our place would be asking for trouble in my opinion.
"If the game ends in a draw, all well and good, but we'll be going out to win at the first time of asking."
Pace suspects Droylsden might have made a rod for their own back by beating Darlington so impressively, as Chesterfield are now bound to be on their guard.
Nevertheless, he is confident Droylsden can be giantkillers again to add another £30,000 to their FA Cup prize-fund, which currently stands at £44,500, and march into the third round proper - the Holy Grail for every non-League club - for the first time in their 116-year history.
Said Pace: "No-one gave us a prayer against Darlington but, having beaten them fair and square over two games, we've given Chesterfield notice that we can stand toe-to-toe with teams at their level."
Goalkeeper Craig Mawson continues to be Pace's major worry with an ankle injury.
Captain Neil Sorvel is fit to lead the Bloods into battle, having missed the last two games having picked up a stomach bug.
Do you think Droylsden can pull off another shock? Have your say.
