DROYLSDEN boss Dave Pace has warned Darlington there is more to come from his battling Bloods side after Saturday's goalless FA Cup draw.

Goalkeeper Craig Mawson pulled off three fine early saves against the League Two leaders but was forced off injured after just 18 minutes.

That meant young substitute stopper Kyle Clancy was thrust into the action, but he carried on Mawson's good work with one superb save from Darlington's Richie Foran.

Pace said: "It was a good battling performance but there is more to come.

"We battled well but we didn't really play. Early on we might have been a bit nervous, and when the keeper went as well, it didn't do us any favours.

"Kyle has only played one game in the Manchester Cup. He was shaking when he came on, but all credit to him."

The return leg will be played next Tuesday and Pace is confident his Blue Square North side have the quality to cause an upset.

He added: "We've got them back at our place now and if we can intimidate them a bit and play a bit of football, then we might get a result.

"The lads are disappointed we didn't do better to be honest.

"Darlington play a lot of long balls but we like to keep it on the deck so it's two styles."

After the three early saves by Mawson, Droylsden settled down and held their own, although chances were few.

Bloods' skipper Neil Sorvel, came closest to breaking the deadlock when his header shaved a post.

The home side pushed hard for a winner late on but Droylsden, cheered on by 242 visiting fans, held on thanks to Clancy's brilliant reaction save from Foran's close-range header.
