Also a sewer has collapsed at the junction of Gigg Lane and Manchester Road, forcing Bury Council into ordering an emergency road closure. Pedestrians can access Gigg Lane as normal, but vehicles must use diversions in place, via Parkhills Road and Market Street. Motorists have been asked to be mindful of the usual parking restrictions and allow extra time for their journey. The council said it is very possible the road closure will still be in operation on Saturday 3rd May, where if we are successful tonight we will face Skelmersdale United at Gigg Lane in the play-off final.
