Radcliffe frustrate FC

FC UNITED stumbled against rock-bottom Radcliffe for the second time in five days to hinder their final push for a third successive title.

The fifth-placed Rebels were held 2-2 by a visiting Boro side who'd stunned them in the Manchester Premier Cup semi-finals earlier in the week.

Steve Howson twice fired Boro ahead, but FC hit back through Josh Howard and sub Simon Carden to leave both sides with a point.

Karl Marginson's men now trail leaders Skelmersdale by 12 points - with five games in hand on them. But it's second-placed Bradford, who lead FC by nine points and have played only three matches more, who pose the biggest threat to the Rebels' hopes of landing the title. Curzon Ashton's gale-hit game with Newcastle Blue Star was abandoned.

Next up, FC UNITED v. CHORLEY at home to Gigg lane, tomorrow, 26th Match 2008 k.o. 7.45pm. After gaining 4 vital points from two hard fought games against Radcliffe and Woodley we play one of our game in hand matches. The last time we played Chorley was in September at Victory Park where we beat Chorley 3-0. They are currently 15th in the league table but as Radcliffe and Woodley demonstrated over the bank holiday weekend this means nothing in a league where all the teams can win on the day and out players will have to be at there best if we are to take all 3 points from this match. Viva la Revolution, come on FC.
