ALTRINCHAM chairman Geoff Goodwin is to remain at the Moss Lane helm - but which division the Robins will be playing in next season is still open to question after defeat at Exeter.
Doubts over Goodwin's future have been removed after he was elected for three more years at Alty's annual meeting, at which the club also announced a £70,000 profit for the last financial year.
But the Robins' highly-prized Blue Square Premier status is back in grave danger after they crashed at St James Park to bring their fears of relegation from the Blue Square Premier flooding back.
Adam Stansfield's low right-foot shot from Richard Logan's cross gave Exeter a 25th-minute lead.
And that lead was doubled eight minutes later, when Matthew Gill tapped in Wayne Carlisle's cross from the right.
Colin Little's injury-time strike came far too late to spare Alty a defeat which has enabled fellow strugglers Farsley to climb above them by winning at Stafford.
And, with Altrincham now lying just a point above fourth-from-bottom Weymouth, who have three games in hand on them, a nerve-racking run-in lies in store for Graham Heathcote's men.
