CURZON Ashton moved five points clear at the top of the UniBond Division One North after the weather played havoc with the fixture list.

Mike Norton, top scorer in the division, took his tally to 29 with both goals in a 2-1 win at third-placed Bradford Park Avenue.

He struck after 40 minutes and added a 55th-minute penalty.

Sergio Mario-Daniel was another two-goal merchant as Rossendale won 2-1 at Bridlington while Woodley drew 2-2 at home with Bamber Bridge.

Mossley had an enforced day off as their home game with Garforth was postponed.

In the Premier, Dean Canning scored Ashton United's goal in a 3-1 defeat at Guiseley.

Salford City, one of three Vodkat NWCL clubs left in the FA Vase, had their fourth-round tie at Coventry Sphinx called off because of a waterlogged pitch and it has been rearranged for next Saturday.

Kirkham & Wesham and Formby also try again on Saturday.

Abbey Hey lost 4-1 at Squires Gate in one of only two Division One games to be played. Jamie Lester scored.
