Burns looks to fire up Rebels

AARON BURNS, the ex-Manchester United starlet, will be bidding to catapult his new club FC United into second spot on Saturday.

The former Old Trafford reserve released by Cardiff has already notched three goals in two starts for the Rebels. And he is in line to make his home debut for Karl Marginson's side, currently in fourth spot, who play second-placed Ossett Albion.

Marginson said today: "It's a chance to leapfrog Ossett and put pressure on the leaders Curzon Ashton.

"We have hit top form now after a sticky patch and with new signings such as Aaron the team has been reinvigorated."

We did well today to win 3-1 against Osset who were a reasonable side. I thought we switched off a bit at the start of the 2nd half & gave the oppo a couple of chances but we came back into it well to get the points. Second in the league now and we seem to have got the confidence back that we were lacking a few weeks ago. I suppose having a few new players helps! Forza FC!

Missed their goal as was late gettin in. They look like they could score when they were attacking, i dont know if that was down to our defence or their attack? 2nd half we looked better and as the half went on we looked more and more like the only victors. However we missed to many chances and if Ossett had taken one of the few breakaway chances i think the result could quite easily been the other way round. Still we are creating more chances but we have to be much tighter at the back.
Rory and Jerome looked good, little disapointed with Aaron Burns but early days.
