The tour, to be managed by international sports marketing specialists IMG, will comprise four matches and will take place in late July and early August. The detailed schedule will be confirmed later this year.
United last toured Asia in 2001 when they played matches in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Bangkok.
United chief executive David Gill told www.manutd.com: "We are delighted to be taking our team back to Asia where we know we have such a huge and committed fan base. This tour gives us the opportunity to give something back to our fans and the manager and players are all looking forward to it."
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said "There's a huge buzz about touring the Far East. Manchester United is something really special to people out there and all the players are excited about the welcome and the atmosphere we can expect."

Let me get this straight: We finish this season and go pretty much straight in to the European Championships, where most of our players can be expected to figure. Then we fly to the other side of the world to tour USA, then across to Asia to tour there. Then, if the players are lucky, theyll land just in time to kick off the new season.
At what point do they get to have a rest?
I'm only surprised that a tour of outer beyond hasn't been organised for the proposed winter break! Lets not hear any more of the "our players play too many matches" comments eh?
Great to see our PLC has got its priorities right again!!!!! Why not visit Mongolia,Tibet,Nepal and all those other major footballing nations!!!! What a joke?
Note to self: Read story properly. Ive just noticed the tour isnt until next year.
Windy- shut up.
Yes I agree Jericho, engage brain before opening mouth. A message windy poohs could well heed. There again he probably don't have one to engage
Naturally I am hugely disappointed that the Asia tour next year will not include a stop in Hong Kong or China. Does the Board realise the support for Utd by the Chinese Red fans? Another country Utd must not neglect is Indonesia. Until recently badminton is the most popular national sport for the Indonesians but no longer. Football has become the number one sport by miles for the 200 million Indonesia and Utd is the most supported team in that country. The Board must do their homework properly when they plan these tours.
Jericho, i bet you have a post-it note stuck to the fridge with a magnetic banana reminding you to change your underpants in the morning don't you?
Shut up? Now was that really called for, touchy today aren't we?
The way our season is progressing, we're gonna be in perfect shape for our major championship this year, the Disney cup in America. HOPEFULLY we can win that, and all our asian matches, and then we'll have loads of new fans! Isn't that brilliant news!
Kerching kerching!!! Huge fan base that needs to be taken care of there.
Don't forget this is partly where we get the money to (not) buy the top football talent in the world, from.
