Kuszczak: A couple of excellent early saves saw United through their only brief tricky patch of game 7

Neville: The Ambrose factor down Charlton's left subdued his usual forages forwards. But defended solidly 7

Evra: Charlton couldn't find anyway past him. Another commanding effort. 7

Ferdinand: Not much to ruffle his feathers. Kept the lid on any potential breakthrough 7

Vidic: Dominant again both on the ground and in air. Not much chance to add to his threat at set pieces 8

Park: Once again it was an energetic effort and just what United needed at times. Bonus was a headed goal! 8

Fletcher: Business like in midfield and that's all that was needed from the Scot plus easy header for goal 6

Scholes: A headache for him probing an opening against swamped Charlton midfield but always looked a danger 7

Giggs: Surprising that he made way early as he'd been electrifying at times. Deserved more joy from his efforts 8

Rooney: Here, there and everywhere looking for a way though 7

Saha: The Frenchman battled away without much luck 6

Knock 3 points off each players score and you might be close. Giving the ball away all over the pitch, no flow, no effort. I don't know how people can still rate Scholes he loses the ball all over the place except when he passes it backward!

You are right about missing Ronaldo and Carrick, ironice it was Park and Fletcher who scored. Not sure they are such bad subs.

Hey Vij, I agree on Vida, but we need to ensure we keep scoring because 1-0 will do us for the last 11 games. So it was good to see goals from Park and Fletch.
My only concern now is whether or not Saha has lost his brilliant touch from the first half of the season. He could do with a goal; just like Rooney needed a month ago.
Good win though.

i dont think it does how average we r without carrick and ronaldo. It was just an off game even though we won 2-0 and played fletcher and park. i think we should play a similar line up against reading on wednesday but heinze,richardson and larson,brown should come in and put everyone gd on the bench. Its a risk but i think its a risk worth takin.

Well, that was a cold and boring day out at what the stadium announcer seems contractually obliged to call 'THE THEATRE OF DREAMS!! THE HOME OF MANCHESTER UTD!!" (I get enough of this pointless hyperbole with Sky Sports... can't we just call it Old Trafford? And I know it's the home of Manchester Utd, I come here once a fortnight - it's not like the ground's full of confused tourists expecting La traviata at the Milan Opera House). Anyway, here's some ratings. KK 7, GN-is-a-Red 6, PE 6, Ri-o, Ri-o 6, NV 5, JSP 6, PS 5, Darren 'Fletcher' Fletch 6, RG 6, WR 7, LS 6. Terrible game, a few nice touches from Wazza, but, with Ronaldo nursing a cold/house-hunting in Barcelona, not much else to lift the spirits. Kit-Kat did OK in goal and showed enough to suggest he'll be battling John 'The Cat' O'Shea as long term successor to Van der Sar. Big Vida and Scholesy had their worst games of the season, while Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs was a maddening mixture of very good and very bad. And last, and very much least, the mighty Fletch scored another of his trademark close-range headers into an empty net (see Boro away for further details).

Blindingly giving Fletcher a 6, eh MEN? The lad was excellent throughout, even the bashers could see that. Broke up a lot of Charlton attacks; created a great opportunity with a deft pass to Rooney through the defender's legs; Supported the attack with consistent runs; and could have scored with a beautiful chip were it not for the goalie's great save (he started that same move in his own half!). Fletcher: MOM I say. Oh, and got a goal too.

I agree Vidic is the best defender in the world,its time Alex gave him some praise.Alex got his tactics wrong again Larrson should have started Hienze should have played instead of Fletcher.

We did what we needed to do... nothing more! If Charlton had managed to put us under pressure, the lads would have used more energy, but yesterday it was not necessary... A great win against a poor team... but of course it was a low quality, boring match.. To me at least, that doesn't really matter when we get 3 points and are winning the league... (O:

Marks way too high for everybody after a really patchy performance, thought Rooney was actually MOM for a change. 3 points is all that matters.

why do fans on here still moan about things...ridiclous really..look it was a hard fought win against a team fighting for there lives,we played some of our much malinged fringe players,the pitch was terrible,we kept a cleen sheet and won 2-0 without hitting top gear.
lets be realistic,wouldnt be take another 11 wins like yesterday for the rest of the league campaign??
my team for reading game on saturday would be KUSCZACK, WES, RIO, VIDIC, HEINZE, RONALDO, CARRICK, SCHOLES, PARK, SAHA AND LARSSON...we need to win on saturday and reading will be difficult to break down..anyhow keep it up lads and lets get that trophy glistening...

Average performance mostly but 3 points and job done. To win the league you have poor performances but to be champions you get through them with the points. In the last 3 years we would draw or even lose a game like that. Not any more though now we are solid defensively

So far so good. It was not the fact Ronaldo or Carrick has not played that we were poor because the ones who did not perform was some of our regulars like Scholes and Saha. Speaking about the latter, i really think he has lost his desire to fight for his place Aussie Dave, Sydney. It is a big worry now if Larsson has to leave in March if Saha does not stop taking the Ruud attitude of thinking that he is undroppable.

This could be a reality next year if CR goes. We are so boring without him. Comments of people that says that he doesnt defend....maybe thats what SAF tells him to do so he have all the explosivity when we attack. Rooney works hard and Park but they are so far away when it comes down to talent and to make the difference. I havent heard about any club after them, have you?? Park had a good game. Rooney had moments but still misses too many simple passes and seems to slow. Gigs had an excellent game and it was a shame that he took him out. Fletcher was ok.

Think marks were bit high when it was a bit boring game and we just did what we had to compared to marks given against tottenham and some other games where been excellent and players recieved poor marks! Oh well onto the next game. Ronnie doesnt track back all the time because he is our counter attack outlet which he is fantastic at.
