Reds youngsters go on loan

UNITED have sent out two more of their proming youngsters to continue their footballing education in the Championship.

Stoke City have signed young winger Lee Martin on loan until the end of the season while Danny Simpson has joined Sunderland.

Martin, 19, who joined United three years ago from Wimbledon for é1m, will be undertaking his third spell away from Old Trafford.

He recently returned from Rangers and last year enjoyed a success with Royal Antwerp, where he was named the fans' player of the season.

He was poised to make his debut in the FA Cup against Fulham today.

Simpson, who joins fellow Reds defender Jonny Evans at the Stadium of Light, could make his Championship debut for Roy Keane's men against Crystal Palace on Tuesday.

Martin & Simpson are future United stars, no doubt about it! I think next season Martin should figure in the first team squad ahead of Park, he has tons of pace, can score and is a great winger Having him and Ronaldo on opposite flanks will be great.

Martin and Park could provide cover for Giggs and Ronaldo. To be honest I havent seen much of either so hopefully these loan moves will be successful. Still how about Stewart Downing. I think he has loadsa potential and was devestating against Bolton last week. English with a bright future. His performances for England werent even that bad, I feel he was used as a scapegoat alot, abit like Hargreaves was

we have been hearing of the "promising" players coming into the youth team but none has found a regular place in the first team in the past 3 seasons. Some have even been sold and most continued to be loaned out. No wonder Gareth Bale is looking towards Spurs. Just see how many have broken into their first team. Is there something wrong with the transition from youth to senior team at OT?

peter, sutton the difference is between the quality of the two teams. Tottenham can afford to play 'kids' beause they have no title aspirations. You might mention Arsenal, and they do have an impressive youth team comin through, but c'mon, you can hrdly compare Tottenham and United!

.......and more. What are we going to do when they've all gone & the first team are down from the present 22 to 14 or 15? Will that still be good housekeeping as the Glazers, via Gill, a man (?), who opposed vehemently the Glazers bid but is now all for it?

iqqy, dudley - Ronaldo will be at Real next season. How do I know? Because Gill has said he's not for sale at any price. The last time he said that was about the club. To quote him he said "it was too highly leveraged, too aggresive & NOT IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE CLUB!" Surely you should recognise the double-speak spokeny by football management the world ober, by now!

David Safe Hands Gill could have refused to let Glazer & anyone else for that matter look at the books. He speaks one thing & does something different. Not a man in my view & he should go now.
