Rumour mill: Rossi set for Black Cats move

GIUSEPPE Rossi could be on his way to Sunderland in a New Year loan deal.

Rossi is currently with Newcastle but has failed to establish himself in the starting line-up and has scored just one goal, in the League Cup against Portsmouth.

His lack of first-team football is a concern for United, and the 19-year-old could link up with Roy Keane at Sunderland in a bid for more playing time, according to reports.

What should United do with Rossi? Have your say.

He needs games to become a better player. The loan deal to Newcastle has been a farce asthey have hardly used the kid. If he gets games at Sunderland in a difficult physical league to play in then i think we should loan him out. The kid has all the talent but needs to become stronger physically. Perhaps we should try him on the wing rather than a striker?

could be a good idea, if he goes even if it's only for 3 months he is bound to get more games than he would at old trafford... Looks like Keano is getting special preferance when it comes to signing utd reserves

All that talk about Chelski setting up a second X1 in the Championship - Mourinho is just one step behind SAF as usual! You can tell where Keano's heart is.

We all know rossi is exceptionally talented. he is technically superb. However, he needs to play in intense matches that mean something against big centre halfs. Teams in the championship or league one would be a great opportunity for him but I would only loan him to a club where he had a major responsibility in being the number one striker at the club

It has to be asked - Would he get the necssary action at OT or be often the bench-warmer?!
It would not be a bad idee to go to where he'd probably be appreciated!
Meanwhile on our CM front -why don't we give Gaizka Mendieta a try 'til season's end?! He in no way features for Middlesbro!!
He was a great player until he joined them!
It sounds crazy!
Up The Reds

As an Italy fan i've been monitoring the Rossi situation, I'm worried that for a technically gifted player that he is, he's not getting the right upbringing spending time on the bench at Newcastle and then going to Sunderland. Obviously if he was starting in the united team he would be playing at a decent level and would develop. I think United should consider loaning him to a Serie A side, (or perhaps they should give him back to Parma), where he would develop his technique to a new level, score goals and regain match fitness. Then United should bring him back in a year or so. United also play a passing game, so putting him up against a clumsy butcher centre half from the championship will do him no good whatsoever! Forza Giuseppe, you will one day lead the Azzurri attck!

Looks like Sunderland are turning into our feeder club with Bardsley, Evans and now Rossi all going there. Should be good for them as Sunderland have now moved right up the table.
Anybody fancy Pederson for the left side giving Giggs lots of rest?

I hope Giuseppe leaves N'castle and goes to Sunderland. After a season under Keano's wing he will return to Man Utd a better player.

I personally would sell him. Lets face it hes as old as Giggs Rooney Ronaldo Sharpe and others were when they were playing for Uniteds first team. The fact is if he was going to be a Premiership player he would have been playing for Newcastle week in week out. If he wasnt good enough for Newcastles starting 11 then he isnt nowhere near good enough for ours. Which brings me onto another point; how come we are not getting any great talent coming out of the academy/reserves? In the past we had at least 1 player per season coming through, and half a dozen all at once in the mid 90s. We either have a rubbish scouting system, or rubbish training system, or both. Carrington is one of the best sporting centres in the country, so why aint we unearthing our own Ronaldos Rooneys Gerrards Terrys etc

Bring Rossi back, maybe we'll use him if we have long runs in the CL and FAcup . Imagine a double injury to Saha and Rooney. Right now he's more fit than Alan Smith, why don't we sent Smith to Sunderland.

Watched the Newcastle/Chelsea game on TV and Rossi looked completely out of his depth; he looked almost mesmerised.

Nowhere near
premiership standard yet. Seems lost in the exalted company. May improve if he plays at a lower level.
