Can't really argue with the ratings, an average of about 5 is right. I would have given Rooney a 6 and he was our best player.
Why not Smith and Jones in place of Ole & Fletcher.
OH! Mary what happened to one game wonder BOY Micheal Carrick??????????????????
Totally abysmal display from the reds. Okay we're up there in the PL but Chelski hae got it nailed on. SAF was clueless me thinks 20 years is long enough we're never going to win anything else except a milk cup without a top European manager
Why don't you rate United's opposition, too?
A bit self-centered, eh? Or do you consider the opposition so poor that they do not deserve to be rated? It may be poor, however, it was good enough to beat United.
Better luck next time.

O'Shea's career highlight is his nutmeg on Figo in the Champion's League years ago. Should have substituted himself there and then..and retired at his peak. This guy is an absolute shocker. Poor touch and poor mind have equated to alot quicker grannies than this fella. Add a Fletcher to the equation (all the talk about how great he is...is just completely out of whack)...and it shows how far Man Utd has fallen from the good years.
Syls + JOS + Fletcher = ...what you expect??? Can anybody show flether how to pass the ball? This jan we should offload three of them..please dont defend Fletcher again.. he did play well in one game but out of 9 bad game!
Well to sum it up the team didn`t seem motivated and supplying long balls to Rooney when his marker was 1m96 tall... was stupid ..... the ground was a mess true which didn`t help United`s passing game and a clear penalty on Ronaldo which the ref decided not to see..... well maybe the ref was given some free VIP tickets for MTV awards or something ....... but on the whole United`s main fault was they didn`t use the space well Saha and Giggs were badly missed but after conceding the goal United played much better.....United should not play the waiting game but do like they have been doing in these last games..... and playing their game ...... GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED 4EVER :D all we need to do in the next games is to play our game :)
A terrible performance which highlighted a few things. Silvestre is simply not fit to wear a Utd shirt whilst Heinze has a long way to go before displacing Evra on this form. I know we go back to the same old points but when will Fergie learn that a midfield carrying O'Shea and DF just does not work. One of them (preferably DF) we can carry but certainly not two of them. However, the fact that he had to play them in Scholes and Giggs' absence shows how thin on the ground our midfield is. Finally, with Saha's absence we also have problems up front. I am a fan of OGS and top marks to the guy for coming back but the predicted 20 goals a season seems a little optimistic AND he got injured again!! At this stage I would rather have someone like Rossi filling in certainly before Smith and perhaps also before OGS. In conclusion, I think our usual first eleven is great but take a couple of players out of the equation and the cracks begin to show!
I would say the marks were fair everyone was ordinary possible that rooney only deserved a 6 as he didn't do much either, I thought carrick was the best passer on show while fletcher returned to type after a good season so far and o'shea proved yet again he doesn't offer enough when played in midfield. Silvestre is a mediocre centre half and i would rather we had sold him and kept evans or pique and given them a chance this year as fourth choice centre half behind rio, vidic and brown as silvestre is.
the outfield players to a man were pathetic and didnt show the slightest interest until we went a goal behind. heinze managed to pass to copenhagen more than the other 21 players collectivley. our deluded manager who keeps telling us that jos and df are the future of united should watch the reruns . our opponents last night would be relegation fodder in the pl
Once again, They (Fergie and Queiroz) have done it. They succeed to make MU looks ridicule in Europe. Why and why they dont understand that we dont have quality beyond our 1st eleven. Fletcher is good but we cannot afford to field in more than 2 good players(Wes,Sylv,Oshea) in our team to win games. We need 9 excellent players (ie:VDS,Vidic, Rio,Heinze,?Carrick,?,?,Ole,Ronaldo,Rooney). Please can Queiroz takes a job anywhere else in the world except MU. I just hate the guy as he seems the one who dictates how we play in Europe.
How can silvestre & Jos get 5 !! Silvestre needs more games?? yes, he does, just not for us !! He's the worst natural defender i've ever seen. My Boxer dog has more composure on a football than that clown. His control and passes into the stand (& lets be honest they're not a new thing for him) are unbelievable. Oh, yes it eventually cost us allright last night and how many times have we said that before about the horsehead. He isn't good enough .. simple as. As for Jos - he didn't get utd going ?? when has he ever? He's not a CM & never will be. The one real concern with all this tho', is when is SAF ever going to realise that these Players aren't good enough. It's obvious to a blind man now that outside of Saturdays team we've got no quality in reserve. That said can someone tell me the last time we actually played well, away in europe, & dominated a team ala '99 ? ..... exactly, lets not kid ourselves SAF, another CL is a wild dream !!!
i thought df started brightly and for the first 30 mins was our best player. but the last hour sums the lad up as he was abysmal he was the headless chicken oft described on here. he was not alone in this department jos i would give @ 2 likewise heinze the rest no more than 3. what the danes highlighted is by sheer hard work they could overcome our mighty midfield. just what will the euro giants do?
Appauling team selection. Fergie to blame totally - arrogant team selection. We saw Heinze wasn't ready last week and he proved it last night. JOS should never play for us ever - he is truly worthless Why on earth was he left on?. Fletcher was hopelessly outfought on the right as well. Ronaldo was a 7 not a 5 though. He and Rooney fought to try and turn it around. MEN need to really look at Ronaldo when they mark him and imagine he is English. They show incredible bias for some reason or other.
Bit harsh of Heinze, he put the only decent ball of the night into the middle and he defended better than some of his colleagues.
Carrick didn't even deserve a rating for his display. 18 million for a player who's passing range seems about 3 yards and never forward.
Silvestre, Brown, Carrick, O'Shea, Fletcher and Ronaldo should all take a long hard look in the mirror. This was simply not good enough. We weren't even close to our standard, especially in central midfield. O'Shea and Carrick didn't link up, and actually seemed slow and uninspired against FC Copenhagens central midfield. No sting, guts or glory throughout the team. We really miss a leader, and we can all see now, how a loss of Saha or a prolific goalscorer would hurt us in the long run. Rooney can't do everything on his own! Solskjaer is a great finisher, but he is also to slow and less of a physical player than his peers. I really hope we do something come January, because this was a proper wakeup-call towards our squad depth. A few more injuries and we're in trouble. Anyone missing Rossi?
Carrick 5!!!!!! I assume that is his aggregate mark for the season? Yet more money wasted. Fergie out! PLEASE!!!!!!!!
well done M.E.N, finally spot on with the ratings!!!!
for sure, carrick & o'sheaky can't play together!!!!
vds 5 had nothing to do
heinze & brown 2
jos 2
all the rest 3
fergie -5 for taking the mick
WHat has as Rooney done to deserve 7.....he missed two clear chances and wasnt in the game at all. CR 5 thats a joke, he was the only one that was frustated to loose to sucha poor side. We cant afford to rotate players. we know that we dont have the squad. WE will not be able to top PL and CL. Oshea is not a player for United and Carrick, Ferd what a waste of money. Evra should have started he is a better combination with Ronaldo. Benfica will be stronger when they meet us. Rui Costa and Karagounis will be fit and they will need the points. We have to get the points against Celtic.
Carrick, Fletcher, O'Shea and Ole 4. The rest maybe about right.
I don't know how all 11 players can play so well at the weekend and then everyone play so badly just a few days later. I can't think of a single player who did himself justice last night. Sympathies to the travelling fans, who had to freeze their knackers off to watch that dross.
For the first time I think the ratings actually reflect the performance fairly. Not sure why Rooney has been given such a distinction from the other players - thought he was only slightly better. I do think that our main problem was the O'Shea, Carrick partnership - SAF had clearly asked Carrick to get forward and JOS to hold but O'Shea's distribution is poor so we struggled to build from the back. Scholes looked lively when he came on and I think if we'd gone for Scholes and Carrick from the start the game would have been settled by half time.
Mark all 5 and that's it ? VDS rescued quite few times, Brown was not making any runs until Ronaldo was shifted to right, Silvestre doesn't desrve to play as CB, Carrick and O'Shea weren't crossing the mid line at all
Some laid back attitude was observed in the match, no spark just a forgetfull European Night
