O'SHEA - Called into the line-up at the last minute, and responded with a goal that had all the luck of the Irish 6
BROWN - Another late stand-in, but showed his customary steel and composure whenever the visitors threatened 6
VIDIC - Gentle introduction to Old Trafford European nights for the Serb, and he took it in his loping stride 6
EVRA - Steady in defence, and it was his thrusting run that opened up the Copenhagen defence for Scholes' opener 6
CARRICK - Elegant and basic, but he kept things ticking nicely as the Reds eased into a two-goal lead 7
FLETCHER - Better player than many believe, but still lets himself down with poor decisions and odd lapses 6
RONALDO - Major threat in the first half, and entertained the crowd with some clever, but pointless, tricks after that 7
SCHOLES - His vision problems are clearly behind him after a stunning goal and some sublime passing 8
ROONEY - That confidence-boosting goal eluded him again, but his link-up play was brilliant at times. 8
SAHA - Should have had two or three goals, but made up for that with some excellent link play, teeing Scholes up for the opener 7
Subs
SMITH (for Saha 60) - Missed a great chance to score in front of Stretford End 5
SOLSKJAER (for Carrick 60) - Played on right flank, but made sure his presence was felt in the game 6
RICHARDSON (for Scholes 76) - Scored a flukey third when his shot deceived the excellent Christiansen 5

Vidic was a rock as usual. He deserves a better rating. As does Fletch, who overshadowed Carrick when it came to penetrative passes. And one more thing: does Saha ever aim before shooting?
We cannot spend year after year complaining about the same thing. Some actions must be taken and soon. With 2 people leaving MU i just hope Queiroz will follow them as there is no improvement on our team cohesion overall. What are they doing in training to be so sloppy in their passing(ie: Fletcher and Oshea) and finishing(ie Saha). Just show them the colour of MU shirt in training to improve their passing and please can Saha learns to lift the ball up when one and one. The chances we are missing and the number we loose the ball cheaply still make me think that we are not contenders to win the BIG TROPHIES(League and CL).
Great Win. Fantastic game both sides attacking. But can we score those easy chances that we missed (Saha,Rooney, Smith and Super-Sub missed very easy chances!!!!) By the way, at this point of the season i'm still can't see why we paid 14+Mil for Carrick. It just me or he plays the same type of game as O'Shea in midfield .
Good team performance. Nice to see Henry nearly crying over disallowed goal, funny how no great fuss from United last 2 games 2 penalties missed by Refs right near them. Funny old game pass Henry a box of tissues :o)
Rooney was superb created chance after chance Saha should have scored 4 at least even Ole missed a sitter from a brilliant Rooney pass.
Vidic and Evra deserve more than 6 but Rooney was man of the match. A great captain's performance
Saha had a mare he missed numerous chances. Carrick had a good game and Richardson looks better in midfield. Fletcher was poor. Ronaldo cannot cross a ball to save his life. At least Rooney was superb but he needs to start scoring again.
Rooney is certainly back to his best he opened up the Danes like a can of sardines time and time again.
wow at 3-0 up pointless tricks, just so everone remembers football and all sports are spectator sports, the spectators need to be entertained and Ronaldo is the ultimate entertainer. The most excited player to watch in world football
Wat?? I cant believe vidic got 5. I think he deserved better than that. he was impressive last nite & it was definitely one of the best performance by him. Anyway Rooney did well, am shocked to see him wearing the armband thou..A lil too disappointed with Saha one to one with goalie skills..he got to be smarter than that. Welcome back smithy..happy to saw him back even thou his existence doesnt make much different thou. Hopefully we played like what we did in the first haf against Liverpool cause as we all know liverpool is no Copenhagen. Come On Reds..lets get ourself a step more futher...& dont let the mistake against Arsenal to happen again.
Strong performance by all.
With Scholes pulling the strings
and United hitting on all cylinders, few teams in the world could have stopped them
today. Give 'em all a 10,
(except Ronaldo who gets 8
for too many wasted plays, Smiffy 8 too for missing a shot me cat could make).
Up the Reds
Vidic is a certain 8. He is a man mountain of a defender. Were did you get only 6 from.
how can fergie prefer df to ogs?
5 goals from 20legend in as many appearances. 5 goals from df in 110 appearances and the favoured one still gets the nod over ole. df deserved nothing more than a 4 as his contribution was zilch
Agree with the ratings. Comments re Fletcher are spot on. He is industrious, but gives the ball away with loose simple passes far too often. He also passes backwards far too often rather than going forward. I would hve preferred that David Jones be given a chance to come on as sub, rather than Richardson. I would have thought it would have been an ideal opportunity.
Vidic only got a 6. Were they watching a different game to me? Nice to see Carrick settling in but we wont see the best from him until perhaps next season. Scholes is playing his best football for years as is Giggs. Rooney back to his best and Roni is on his way to becoming the best player in the world. Saha had a good game but should have had a brace. Basically solid at the back and another clean sheet for EVS. Now for the scousers!
Agree Rooney was MOM but followed closely by Vidic who is morphing into Jaap Staam. Scholes, Carrick also excellent but the same old failings from JOS and Fletcher on the ball - far too many wayward passes.
John Oshea was a disgusting disgrace in the first half especially. I hope with all my heart Gary is back against the scoucers because Oshea isnt up to it. Every time the ball went right Oshea and Fletcher saw that all momentum of attack was lost. Evra and Ronnie on the left showed a million times more threat. For Oshea to score a goal he knew nothing about and didnt deserve, whilst the fantastic Rooney cant buy a goal, shows there is no justice left in the world. Vidic is tremendous, a real warrior of a centre half. I've said it before and I'll say it again, dont be blinded by price tags, Vidic and Brown are the best pairing at centre half. Let Rio click his 120 grand a week heels on the bench for a bit, might help improve his concentration.
Good to see Carrick got a good mark on here his passing last night was really good (the sun gave him a 5 but what do they know about football) and to be honest when he went of and fletcher moved inside we lost some rhythm, Rooney dropped into the hole and linked up the play well a couple of the balls he played through to Saha were top draw and should have been finished but i thought the rock the performance was built on was Vidic who gave a masterclass in no nonsense defending.
EVRA DESERVES 8 AND RONALDO 8 AS WELL. THIER LINK UP IS ASTONISHING. THEY ENSURED MANUTD PLAYED AT A HIGH TEMPO.
NICE GAME BUT SAHA SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT HIS FINISHING. ROONEY TOO. CARRICK SHOULD LEARN TO PUT HIS FOOT IN A TACKLE.
bobbydazzler, df was preferred to ogs because the latter at 33 and after his long term injury you cannot expect him to play 50 games a season. Anyway, Fletcher was not that bad especially in the 1st half where he covered a lot of ground and made some decent moves. In the 2nd half he did look tired and made some elementary mistakes. Still Scholes was MoM for me even if he was lucky not to get booked for a senseless tackle. Saha and Rooney's finishing were awful but they both were involves in some good moves. Once we were 2-0, it seems that most of the players had their mind on next Sunday's game - especially Ronaldo.
nick, Chorlton .. Fletch overshadowed Carrick ? .... read all about it ! Carrick made one reverse pass in the second half that nearly put scholes in ..... the stuff Fletch can only dream about ! Do you watch the game, the lad can't pass to a red shirt !! as for Vida, he plays like he looks ... the rock of Serbia ! Bring on the mickeys !!
I liked Carrick last night let's hope he can do it against better opposition. Saha wasn't on his game but Wes & Vidic were good. Fletcher was weak again & OShea we know isn't up to it. Good team spirit.
saha needs to be more clinical in front of goal cos in bigger matches opportunities like that dont come often and u are expected to utilise and convert half of such chances.we may have one or two clear cut chances against liverpool and what we do of it may make or mar the difference. Also ronaldo can do better.Even if we are 10 goals up a disciplined and proffessional player must make best use of every move but not to entertain cos what decides at the end of the game is number of goals!.Happily rooney is back, no doubt he is phenomenal bunch of talents and potentials.
Lets pick the three points on sunday and ditto later at reebock!
Fletch and O'Shea back to their bad old ways. Vidic and Evra both excellent, they've earned their right to start against the dippers. Carrick had his best game I've seen for United, pinging the ball forward to Rooney time after time, brilliant accuracy to his passing. Rooney is on fire again but, predictably enough, as soon as the boy wonder finds some form, Ronaldo and Saha lose it. I can't wait to see the 3 of them spark at the same time. Please, please let it happen this Sunday!
More or less agree with the ratings apart from Saha who I thought was comparatively poor though he must score a one on one at some point! Fletcher (OK I concede he was playing out of position) was poor and couldn't put a cross or pass anywhere near another United player. Highlight of the night had to be O'Shea falling over on the touchline with nobody near him, that boy is class ;-) Not entirely sure what Carrick did to warrant a 7, 6 may have been fairer.
