The Liverpool striker's refusal to shake Evra's hand prior to yesterday's Premier League game with Manchester United painted English football in the worst possible light to hundreds of millions around the world watching one of the most high-profile fixtures.
Despite indicating to manager Kenny Dalglish he would engage with the United skipper on his first start since serving an eight-match ban for racially abusing Evra at Anfield in October, Suarez ignored him, sparking an angry reaction that resulted in a half-time tunnel fracas.
It also prompted an over-the-top celebration from Evra at the final whistle, something both Sir Alex Ferguson and Rio Ferdinand have since suggested was probably unwise.
Taylor could hardly believe what he was seeing. And now he feels the FA must do something.
"We are heading for anarchy," he said. "That is what happens when people do not abide by the rules.
"Racism is part of society and football is trying to set an example by dealing with it.
"No matter what individual opinions may be, you have to respect the rules.
"What happened at Old Trafford was not good for the game.
"It was disrespectful, inappropriate and embarrassing.
"We cannot afford to disengage with Liverpool on this and as the governing body, the FA must take the lead because quite frankly, after all the work that has been done, what I saw was depressing." Tweet

It's never your fault, always the victim, it's never your fault
Regardless of what ever anyone doesor says,.This issue will not be resolve till Dalglish himself puts
a end to it. From an outsider,s point of view it appears Dalglish as used this issue to galvanized
his players however misguided this policy as been. What it needs now is for the liverpool board to
take over the situation and resolve matters, and the sooner the better.
what has happend on saterday is over and most not be seen in the future i remember the john barnes days but that was petty compared to now liverpool are a great club and it is the biggest game of the season home or away the best way out is for his work permit to be revoked so liverpool can sell him to france or spain etc now with suport from fifia and our pwn F A and let up on transfers this once K T D canada 12/02/2012
What a terrible advert for the PL. This idiot has disgraced his club and our league. It did'nt help either that his manager backed him all the way. Yes, the FA should get involved and give a stern warning to both club and player. That is probably all that will happen, in this case. I wonder how it would have been handled had it not been liverpool.
There's me believing thatThe PFA had some responsibility for it's members.
No mention of "Plug" refusing to shake Suarez hand?
Even after this Suarez "apology", nothing has changed has it. Suarez has not apologised to Evra for the abuse, he has not apologised to Evra for not shaking hands, he has not apologised in any way shape or form to Evra or United for his behaviour. All he's done is admit to making a mistake of judgement by decieving his club and his manager on the handshake, and this only after the club owners spoke out.
Dalglish has defended Suarez the whole time, he has not spoken out against racism, he has not confronted Suarez's behaviour, has continuously claimed Suarez to be innocent, although he was found guilty by an independant panel. He admitted to using the word "N----". They accepted the 8 game ban but only because an appeal would have been judged futile on the evidence available. With no word or action has he or Dalglish accepted the guilt. After the ban, Dalglish claimed he should never have been banned in the first place. He has claimed that there were hidden issues that only he and Liverpool knew about (well why weren't these submitted Kenny?). Why accept the ban if he's really innocent?
These "apologies" are not genuine, and are not of their own free will, they are not even apologies. The owners have put pressure on King Kenny (King? dmml) and the Uruguyan "biter", and that is the only reason they've said anything at all. I can't see the word apology in any statement, except for admitting to making a mistake of judgement?!
The matter may now be officially closed, but it will never be forgotten. Suarez is a really nasty piece of work, he has done other unsightly things in the past, and it won't be long before he falls out of line again. He is malicious, devious, cowardly and without respect for fellow professionals and the idea of fair play. He slyly pushed Rio over Evra yesterday, Rio wouldn't have fallen so badly if Suarez hadn't of pushed him (look at the replays).
As with Tevez, I'll be glad to see the back of him. Go home cry baby.
Liverpool a great club?? Not yesterday. Well done to my fellow Irish red who posted Bruce Springsteen singing "We shall overcome" on the official Liverpool fans website. It lasted 10 minutes before being taken off.
The FA are useless and should not be involved in anything
They cant even sort the refs out to stop making ridiculous mistakes so how are they going to sort anything else out
were heading for anarchy because the FA are a completely useless organization
Perhaps the headline should be..........
"PFA chief Gordon Taylor wants clampdown over Patrice Evra feud"?
Evra is a disgrace after his performance He should never Captain united again
true red down under
For weeks all the Liverpool fans have been saying is that Evra was lying (even though they decided to ignore the admition by Suarez), now that he has been caught lying to his own manager will the Scousers admit they were wrong? Of course not, still the victim in their own deceiving eyes.
I wonder if John Aldridge in some of his ridiculous articles in the Liverpool Echo will come out and say he got it wrong? No of course not, will pretend it never happened.
