Javier Hernandez: I'll keep scoring for Manchester United to repay Sir Alex Ferguson

FINE SEASON: Javier Hernandez

Javier Hernandez’s debt to Sir Alex Ferguson and United will spur him on to greater things. The Mexican striker was an unknown to Reds fans 12 months ago following his late- season signing from Chivas in Guadalajara for £8m.

The first glimpse his new supporters got was against England as a second-half substitute in a World Cup Wembley warm-up.

He then gave United fans a taste of things to come impressing in South Africa.

A year on and – after a sensational 20 goals in 45 appearances in his Old Trafford debut term that helped secure the record 19th League title – he is still at it for Mexico.

He scored his first senior international hat trick against El Salvador last weekend in the Gold Cup in America.

And the 22-year-old has vowed to keep winning titles for the Reds.

“I’m not a symbol or an idol, or anything like that. Football is not a sport like golf but a team game,” said Chicharito.

“I am very motivated after a great season with Manchester United.

“From now on I’ll owe a great debt to Sir Alex Ferguson for bringing me to Europe. My dream continues and has not changed.

“I want to win many titles to give back to the team that opened the doors for me.”

Hernandez’s next Gold Cup match is against Cuba in Charlotte at the Bank of America Stadium on Thursday.

Will Hernandez maintain his success with United? Have your say.

Barring injury there is no reason why Henandes cant go from strength to strength, providing sufficient opportunities are supplied from team members playing alongside and behind him. Bringing in a midfield destroyer and quality playmaker with the speed and vision to release the ball quickly will only enhance his play. It may even improve Rooney’s goal contribution. Signing the necessary quality players we need is crucial – as every day goes by there is more likelihood of letting the likes of City and Chelsea in with their big fat cheque books!

I feel we have another Ole on our hands. Scores goals... important goals for that matter, is humble, appreciates what Man Utd has done for him, and I genuinely feel he will get better, and show faith by playing for us for years to come and winning trophies!

Here’s a thought... If we are planning on getting rid of Brown and Gibson to go to Sunderland, for a combined fee of about £10 million. Why is it that this Henderson dude can command a £20 million over bloated fee?.

Gibson 23 years old, Henderson 20+. Are we saying that Henderson is by far the better player than Gibson to warrant that amount of money, and more worryingly what these other teams are saying of Man Utd players that are being shipped out, is our scouting, and training set-up is not as good as theirs so we shouldn’t be trying to recoup silly money for average players. Because, lets face it both Gibson and Henderson are average players!

Little Chickentinto is truly been the surprise pot for Fergie Son since he arrive in Mexican. This season he is been like the first course oer derves for starters please my good man and please for to have gander at wine listings. Next season he therefore give premier league main course big meal deal performance in his life like massive slop of potato surrounded by lobster thermadores.

In August just every see as Fergie winds Chickentinto up and let he go like a wurling wurlwind at a monster car jam drag rally race. He be so quick out in his block everyone think he speedy gondarles in disguises of silly sombero and whiskers. Even before opposition teams have had opportunity chance to lace in boots and say with each other “good luck play the game boys” already speedy chickentinto have run rings of fire around the other players and back of the net GOOAALL. Little chickentinto will have goals coming so far out of his ears that in Christmas they give him golden shoes. If they think this slow him down however then no think again you cock-amamey-choe-choes because Chickentinto can even score goals with his head and face like he did with wondergoal in Communities shield between Chelsea boys.

So watch out tweedy guy Ashley Cole and big head Kompany because you have been warned for next season little chickerento bag goals for fun like fat german boy collecting sweets in barvarian candy store.

After scoring a hatrick for Mexico it shows how many goals he would score at United with a decent midfield and a top coach

The kid has a good attitude, first one at training last to leave so they say. You can see when The Green Pea is on the pitch it’s a great honour for him playing for the greatest club on the planet Man Utd.

Expect good things from Chicharito in the next few years and let’s hope his enthusiasm does not wane.

He will find it harder the second year, his game will have been analysed and studied then it will be a true measure of his ability to see how he copes. I feel that he will be equal to the task with the help he will receive from the coaches and other players.

Fantastic player but still a work in progress. It was disappointing for me after a great opening season, the number of times he was caught out offside in the first half of the Champions League final where opportunities to score were always going to be at a premium. He has been fantastic in the main though and his selfless movement is something that other players should try and emulate when attacking.

It will be interesting to see if Owen is played more next season as an alternative to Hernandez and a chance to keep him fresh.

There are two sorts of player who find their second season much more difficult:- those who are predictable ( the “keep it away from his right foot” type) and those who become complacent (“I’ve secured my place in the team and there’s not much competition for it”). Hernandez is neither of these!

Consider those who become unstoppable, no matter how many times the opposition study them.
Firstly you have the player with incredible skills (Messi and Ronaldo).
Secondly, those team players who are surrounded by other likeminded colleges with skill (Messi – again – Iniesta and Xavi to name only three).
Thirdly you have those who can conjure goals from nothing (eg. Messi – have I mentioned him before? – and Rooney).

I believe Hernandez can fall into the third category next season.
If he lives up to his comments above, he could make category two! But, and here’s the rub, it’s vital we sign a quality attacking midfielder this summer and keep hold of the skills of Rooney, Berbatov and Nani.

Add to that a World class keeper, a left footed midfielder, a quality defensive midfielder and another central defender (sorry Rio but injuries are getting the better of you), and we should be fine for a few more seasons!!

Barca is the next team which needs knocking off it’s perch.

Interesting to see FIFA suggesting Berba is one of the top 3 forwards most impressive this season.....And he can not make the bench either... Pathetic....

Although Hernandez had a fine season, some of his success would have been down to 'the surprise factor' and we will need to wait and see whether teams work out a plan to try to cancel him out in the future. From whats been said, Chicho is a diligent worker, constantly striving to improve and, so, we can only hope that the guy continues to move around the front line as he has done and scores his share of goals. I think its important not to get too carried away and, if his contribution dips a bit, that we show patience. However, if the guy never ever scores again, I will long remember him for his 36 second goal against Chelsea which almost guaranteed us the League!!

Berba, I think you should go to another club.... Only FiFA... and all UK fans,..... and .....not one and two acknowledge your great skills..

Why not play Chica and Berba together?

Here is the club for headless chickens only, nobody likes all the imagination and artistry and sublime skills you have. You are one of the greatest ManUtd players.... If only there was a stronger midfield..... And why Sir Alex does not play Berba and Chica together, with Nani, Valenci, Rooney and somebody else behind them? We will be killers....

He is the reason my wife told me to get tickets for the Man United vs Barca friendly next month in Washington D.C. Hope he goes down as a true Red Devil legend with a statue outside of Old Trafford.

I hope I'm wrong but my gut feeling is that Sir Alex will revert back to the 4-3-3 for most games next season, but luckily not the negative version. I truly believe that if wage demands can be met, he is targetting players with the technique craft and vision to match Barcelona - however, this means limited opportunity for Chicharito.

If i were in a position of influence I would go all out for Alexis Sanchez (£30m) - alternatively Ashley Young (£17m), Sneijder (£30m), Daniele De Rossi (contract issues, £20m), Luka Modric (£25m) and David De Gea (£18m). These would be 5 top quality signings at a value of £110 - £123m.

Already released are VDS, Hargreaves, Scholes and Gary Neville. I would entertain offers for Wes Brown (2m), Welbeck OR Macheda(10m), Diouf (4m), Obertan (4m), bebe (3m), Gibson (5m) , Kuscak (5m) - bringing in approx £33m and releasing a lot of the wage budget -

Total expenditure between 80-90million. My squad composition would be:

Rooney

Sanchez/Young (Chicharito) Nani
(Park) (Berba) (Valencia)
(Giggs) (Owen)
(Welbeck or Macheda)

Sneijder De Rossi Modric
(Anderson) (Fletcher) (Carrick)
(Cleverley) (Pogba)

Evra Rio Vidic Rafael
(Fabio) (Smalling) (Evans) (O Shea)

De Gea
(Lindegaard)

This squad would give the ability to play 4-4-2 and overpower most teams in terms of attack as we have done at Old Trafford as well as having the midfielders to play against the bigger teams, especially away, without being scared and negative - and most importantly winning, as we failed to do against Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, City, Spurs and Barcelona.

I can but dream!...........................

Hernandez will continue to be a big success here at Manchester united.

It wouldnt shock me if Hernanadez hit 30 or 40 goals next season.

The greatest manager of all time Sir Alex Ferguson has done everything for Javi and nomatter what some might think, Fergie will NEVER sell Javi and the Mexican superstar will NEVER leave United. I have recently seen stories saying Real Madrid wants Hernanadez but Ferige has told them he is not for sale at any price and that is spot on as not even £1 Billion could get United to sell.

Chicharito will become a United legend and lead us to many trophies for a long time to come. Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez will one day be the best in the world.
