Big Chief Fergie's tribe is growing

Manchester United's Big Chief Fergie was made an honorary chief-for-the-day of the Canadian Indians’ Kwakwaka-Wakw tribe from Vancouver when he met tribal members on a visit to Salford to repair a totem pole.

Three generations of the Cranmer family came over to England to repaint and repair the totem pole that will be on display in the Museum of Museums at the Trafford Centre.

The pole was orginally donated to  Manchester Liners at Salford Docks in the late 1960s to mark the area's trade links with the Canadian communities. It stood near the company’s headquarters, but was removed in 2005 and fell into disrepair.

When the Indians were invited over from Canada to do the restoration work it was discovered they were a footballing family connected to the Cormorants club on the West Coast of Canada and were United fans.

Salford Councillor Steve Cohen wrote to the Reds to ask if they could visit  Carrington and Sir Alex invited them along.

The Indians sang a victory song to the Reds boss and they exchanged football shirts with Ryan Giggs.

If we're the injuns then I guess Manchester City are the cowboys!

Injun is a word that refers to people of native Indian Heritage. Something which i'm guessing none of the Men in the picture above have, nice try though. Lets see if they will post that

The Glazers must be so proud of SAF, their little lapdog.

Revolution, the 3 men are from the Namgis people of Alert Bay, they are called First Nation Indians, from B.C Canada. They came over to Salford to restore the Totem Pole that Chief Doug Cranmer carved in 1969.

Don't suppose those injuns could do the republic of mancunia a favour by scalping the glazer tribe for us?

SAF should wear that headdress at all games - that would turn a few heads!
