The deal makes Telekom Malaysia the "Integrated Telecommunications Partner" of United in Malaysia.
It continues the strategy of widening United's sponsorship base and hopes to tap into the enormous fan base of the Reds in the country.
"Anyone who went on our tour of the Far East last summer knows the strength of feeling that Malaysians have for the club," said chief executive David Gill.
"Over 40,000 attended our training session and another 40,000 came to the second match in Kuala Lumpur, despite only having 48 hours' notice of the fixture."

Liverpool cannot handle two owners let alone 70 odd owners at united. If people put in millions they would want a return and a seat on board. We will end up like Real or barca as politically run club where everything is so unstable.
I am just so worried for United.

All fans should be happy with more sponsorship deals. More money coming into the club is a good thing, whether the owners are the Glazers or a bunch of greedy bankers.

I have no formal links to MUST....I just have an opinion. And I have done hours of research on the subject. And I smart enough to understand what I uncover.
So do you think this proves the Glazers are good for the club? Get real. Anyone can sell sponsorship of United, we are the most valuable sports brand in the world. And the numbers, as Free Red points out are very small.
Wake up magic boots.... because it's time to hand over your cash to the glazers. And to keep doing it. Forever. I hope you've got deep pockets, because they won't ever stop taking your money.

So tickets, beer, pies, programmes, shirts, and the like will be free under the reformed-plc? Or is it more a case of "it's time to hand over your cash to the owners whoever they are. And to keep doing it. Forever. I hope you've got deep pockets, because they won't ever stop taking your money."
You don't seriously believe that prices will ever go down do you?
It seems that your research time has been wasted if you believe poppycock like the above and your ridiculous notions about fans who give up their tickets getting them back again under the reformed-plc board. You are just a fan who's gone a bit giddy. Have a lie down.

"So tickets, beer, pies, programmes, shirts, and the like will be free under the reformed-plc? "
I didn't say that.
"You don't seriously believe that prices will ever go down do you? "
I didn't say that either.
Have you forgotten to put on your reading specs today?

GOOD NEWS STORY!!! (LOL) Even a 'skool' kid could work our this BIG DEAL wouldn't pay Rio's wages for two years never mind the 700,000,000 debt plus interest that the fans are expected to paty back. If this what you call a good news story I can's wait to see what you call a bad one (lol)

Obviously, it's just you daydreaming in another giddy moment and not thinking while posting. You do that a lot. Fans have always been forced to pay and pay again. Nothing is likely to change that.

And Midfield General two items:
1) Anyone can sell sponsorship for United: True, but noone has as well as the current owners...ever before. That, sadly, is a fact.
2) ".... because it's time to hand over your cash to the glazers. And to keep doing it. Forever. I hope you've got deep pockets, because they won't ever stop taking your money." Well covered by T&C already, but you will be paying indefinitely to the club even if the Red Knights take over...PLUS an additional annual membership fee....like your pals at Barca. No matter who owns the club, you will always be paying.

Even a knuckle dragging glazer lover should have been able to work out the largest seven figure number is £1 less that £10mil or 20p less than £2mil a year over five years. Doh!
Midfield General (13/03/2010 at 08:25)
Nice try. You deliberately misinterpret my points.
You BOTH know that I meant that prices are higher under the Glazers than the plc. Want to deny that? We ALL know that the prices will continue to rise fast under the Glazers - want to deny that?
Pretend to be stupid all you want, but only the stupid buy it. I'd rather engage on an intelligent level with fans, rather than try and manipulate opinions through exploiting their lack of understanding.
Midfield General (13/03/2010 at 08:30)
So 7 figures could be 9mil, it could be 1mil. Over 5 years! It could be as little as 200k per season. Lets hold a parade through Manchester to celebrate the undoubted business acumen of the Glazers!!
So lets get this right.....this new sponsorship deal will probably just pay for 1 year of wages for one of the Glazer sons. They'll need to do much better than that to win the fans over - is this the best positive news story then can muster? Hilarious. I think the glazer boys are actually a bunch of muppets, with little business skills. Malcolm has the skills, his spawn are stupid rich kids who couldn't even get into a good uni. And I have evidence to prove it, but it keeps getting pulled by the mod.

So are you delighted with our association with AIG and soon AON? Don't think that might have damaged the brand slightly? Try wearing an AIG branded shirt in the US, you will get vile abuse in the face from strangers. United's name has been heavily tarnished due to our link with AIG. Great work the Glazers!!
And why have our owners taken half of the AON deal money already? We have been paid 40 of the 80mil already, and the deal hasn't even started!! Great work the Glazers!!
So they pimp our name around the world to any corrupt organisation and you thank them for it. Do you only see dollar signs?
John Terry's Magic Boots Oops (16/03/2010 at 17:23)
Perhaps you do not know how to interpret your own comments. You insinuated that prices were not going to rise and that everything would be essentially rock bottom prices if the Glazers were ousted. Your verbage also lead us to believe that we would no longer be paying out of pocket to support United.
The fact is, this new approach to regional sponsorship deals is whip smart and will bring even more monies into the coffers. Little by little it adds up. Not sure why you would consider a couple million quid a small deal. This isn't even one of our main sponsorship deals, just another example of our branding power.
And as far as shirt sponsors goes...AIG doesn't bother me. AON doesn't bother me. AIG wasn't in trouble when we signed the deal. AON same. If anything the AIG shirt sponsorship helped their company a little during some bad times.
And I have been to many large and small American cities in the past 2 years in my AIG sponsored gear and have never, ever had anyone even cast a funny glance in my direction. Waste of a point that was.
You seem to believe everything you hear from your mates.
I wouldn't mind seeing the Glazers gone....but someone else said, it is the devil you know.
tooth&claw, manchester (17/03/2010 at 08:45)
You've moved from being a United fan to someone who wishes to damage United and wishes harm on United. Your posts should be treated with as much with the same contempt as those of any bitter or ABU.

Sounds like you;ve misinterpreted my words. Maybe deliberately because you had to use the words "insinuated" and "your verbage leads us to believe". What? You are putting words in my mouth, and I never said any of those things. Lets try again:
I believe that price rises under the RKs will be LESS than under the Glazers. This is only my belief, there is no way any of us can predict the future with certainty, but I am basing it on the 5 year Glazer track record and published statements about RK intentions.
