Nani missed the slating dished out last week after Besiktas's victory but he hasn't played since United's 3-3 draw with CSKA Moscow at Old Trafford five games ago.
Since then the 23-year-old has expressed his upset at being left out of the United picture whilst on World Cup play off duty.
But Fergie says he won't be sold in January and tonight could be another opportunity for the player to show his true capabilities and regain his form.
"Some big clubs have been mentioned for Nani, like Milan and Benfica, but there has been no contact made with us - and we wouldn't entertain selling him anyway," said the United boss.
"If someone came in for Nani in January we would tell the player that he is going absolutely nowhere.
"He's a young boy and he wants to play - and he might get a chance against Spurs.
"He has suffered because Luis Antonio Valencia's form recently has been excellent and because Gabriel Obertan has emerged as an interesting player.
"It is no criticism of Nani, but the way things have developed in the last few weeks have gone against him.
"I have spoken to him and told him that he must take his chance when it comes along."

Surely there is a Sunday League team somewhere that will offer him a place!
Bring back Ralph Milne!

I'm glad it's been confirmed from the inner-sanctum, but why so harsh on the planks?
Incredibly worrying that they'd keep someone who is unlikely to learn, develop or progress. The headline says it all.

Why not say it as it is :
We wouldn't sell nini in January 'cos as it's xmas & we'd only get 45 chocolate coins for him !
Obertan looks one minute like he can be a player, the next minute....... we need sigourney Weaver !

Mark, for once you're neither offensive nor inapporpriate.
I hope he keeps anderson, carrick, brown, park, tony "the deflection" valencia ,and berba aswell as they've all contributed to a side that has qualified for the knockout stage of the champions league, sit 2nd in the premier league and go into yet another cup quarter final tonight.
They've all achieved, in just a few months, far more than the lotto winners at wastelands. Indeed, happy days.

Nani needs to start playing as well - he has the same talent that Ronaldo had at 19/20 years of age, but hasn't been given the same opportunities as Ronaldo by Fergie. On the occassions where he has played he was probably one of the best players on the pitch in most cases, but he does have the odd game where nothing seems to be working out and he frustrates the hell out of all of us.
C'mon Fergie, it's time to give Dad's army a rest and let the youngsters develop.
Also, what happened to Tosic after his impressive pre-season run? All of a sudden he is nowhere near the first team...
