The Bulgarian missed matches either side of the international break with a knee injury, though he did play for Bulgaria, scoring twice against Malta to become his country's all-time top scorer.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson stated on Saturday that his £30.75million forward would miss out against Besiktas as qualification to the knockout stage is already assured.
However, Berbatov is now back in full training and Ferguson may consider letting the former Tottenham man loose on Besiktas in a bid to secure top spot in Group B and a favourable draw in the next round.
Ferguson does have a few injury concerns. Rio Ferdinand is definitely out with an injury to his lower back, Johnny Evans will miss out too after failing to recover from a calf problem while neither John O'Shea nor skipper Gary Neville trained with the main group on Tuesday morning.
That could mean a rare start for the likes of Darron Gibson and Gabriel Obertan as Ferguson looks to bring some freshness into his starting line-up.
Edwin van der Sar is likely to sit out the clash with the Turkish champions, having suffered a bang on the knee in Saturday's win over Everton.
Should Ferguson opt for Tomasz Kuszczak then Ben Foster's fears that he is now third-choice keeper at Old Trafford will be confirmed

He may start alongside Rooney, who I assume was taken off early against the Toffees in preparation for this game. I would like to see Owen get another start but can't see SAF going for that after he played the full 90 minutes at t'weekend. But then what do I know, SAF's teams are impossible to predict at the best of times!

They say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. But I salute your efforts!
"Dimitar Berbatov" and "lung busting" are not really words you hear in the same sentence. Unless that sentence goes - "Dimitar Berbatov watched on lethargically as the lung-busting Wayne Rooney grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck."

With Ronaldo gone, Berba, Rooney and Giggs are the only proven players we possess capable of winning a game with a flash of genius. Whilst you can always throw Scholes into that mix, his influence is sadly becoming more and more part time.
