Ferguson said in a speech at a League Managers Association dinner last week players were "cocooned" by their agents and had become "fragile".
Neville commented : "I completely agree with his sentiments.
"It is one of my pet hates when I see players who have agents that do everything for them.
"They don't know how to set up their own bank account, they don't know what they're spending their money on and they can't make their own decisions.
"Not every player is like that, but some are now totally dependent on agents and advisers.
"For me, life is an education and you learn things as you go through it.
"I think a footballer should sit down and negotiate with a club, even if his agent is sitting with him. It is in a player's best interests to be there and see what is going on.
"The idea of allowing someone to look after your financial and professional existence is something I cannot agree with.
"There are some agents who do a good job looking after players but there are others who stifle and mollycoddle players.
"Some agents will come into a player's life when he is 20, leave his life at 34 and never want to know that player again.
"Every footballer needs an adviser at some point.
"But a player doesn't need to pay between five and 15 per cent of his wages to a guy to set up a bank account, buy him a new fridge, or ask his club's chief executive for a pay rise."

I don't think it's uncommon for the manager and his club captain to share the same views.

As regards Neville's comments, it is surely absurd that many players cannot survive without their advisers. Harry Redknapp was reported as saying that, when players were not in the first team, their agent talked to the Chairman - rather than the player talking to the manager - how daft is that? Players themselves are oddballs - look at Anderson and Tevez as local examples - despite their being in England for several years, neither have bothered to learn english. How do they manage? Yes, you've guessed it - somebody looks after them from morning 'til night!

Another great result by a not so great team. You keep pulling them out of the bag but it won't be enough unless you strengthen. Even without questioning the goal after the game had finished when City were at OT, Utd are not that far away from the chasing pack and you will experience a dip in results sooner or later.
As I posted earlier, not since Norwich City in the early 90s has such a limited team been second in the table at this stage of the season. Well done Fergie. I bet he wishes he could unearth a Ruul Fox or a Chris Sutton to shore up your current batch.
I tell you what if Fergie can improve a Darren Fletcher this much, just think what he could do with a Joey Barton? Joey would be in the same price bracket as Michael Owen.

I remember 30 odd years ago when Martin Buchan,at the time Utd skipper, caused a bit of a stink by insisting that HE would be responsible for the safety of HIS passport! So the mind boggles as to how much the club take control of everyday/normal events.
Perhaps in Utd's case it would be nice if the apron strings are relaxed somewhat on the players... and a bit more consideration be shown to some supporters who are treated with disdain when they raise objections regarding tickets/glazers etc!

It worked very well with Eric Djemba-Djemba, William Prunier, Massimo Taibi, Kleberson, Veron, Jesper Blomqvist, Jordi Cruyff, Jim Leighton, David Bellion, Nani, Laurent Blanc, Quinton Fortune.

The agent merely looks after his client and so should be paid at the agreed rate.
