Van der Sar: Important brave save at the feet of Cahill when Reds held slender lead 7

Carrick: A steady partner to Fletcher and struck his goal in the same uncomplicated way 6
Fletcher: Got United going when they needed it with a superb strike and all round busy effort 9
Giggs: Peripheral figure for a very long time then he set up Carrick's goal and improved 6
Owen: Various attempts to worm his way through Everton ranks but nothing really came off 6
Rooney: Chuffed about a lot and Everton defenders couldn't rest but he didn't test Howard 6

Crackin goal from Fletcher - if he can get add to this side of his game by gettin 10-15 goals a season he could turn out to be as influential for us as Gerrard is for them.

Fab – Usual mixture of bubbling youthfulness – 7
Wes –Very Good. Hardly put a foot wrong - 8
Vid – As above -8
Evra - Another all action game but he does run up cal de sacs far too often – 8
Valencia – Overall very good & another goal from that angle? – 8
Fletch – a Quality performance, all action with a superb goal– 9
Michelle – Quietly effective & a goal!!!!!! – 7
Giggs – A reasonable enough game – 7
Rooney – Excellent & MOM for all but the blind. – 9
Owen – Sorry, but my concerns persist! 3 difficult half chances but never near to scoring. A shadow of the great striker he once was. Some neat touches but little else and not good enough. – 6
Scholes – Another training exercise – 7
Oberton – You can see this guy is going to be very good. I‘d nearly forgotten about Nani!!! – 6

Good performance, outrageous goal by Fletcher, who is becoming more and more a class act, would like to see him and Anderson getting a good run together, with Obertan and Valencia on the wings, Macheda and Rooney upfront

RDS: Smooth performance after a while out of the side. Maybe it's coincidence but we played better with a decent RB and it provided Valencia with great support....take note Jon O Shea. 7
WB: Solid performance one ace tackle on Saha. 7
NV: Well what can you say, back to his murderous best, I hope he keeps it that way. 8
PE: ************************Man!! 10
AV: Had a very industrious game full of good running and some end product.....see Park, both can be done. Obligatory deflected goal. 8
MC: Best game of the season from him by far, he and Fletch bossed things in the centre. 8
DF: Played a stormer, fast becoming the first name on the team sheet....is he really the same player of a few yrs ago? Captain material!! 9
RG: Not his best game but still got an assist, I think he should've been replaced earlier by Obertan. 6
WR: Didn't really get going today, a tad dissapointing but he'll come round soon. 6
MO: I think he's pretty much shot as a top league player as he should be sharper than he was today. Maybe he needs more games to get that sharpness but he really doesn't do much to warrant a starting berth. 5
Scholes: Did a grand job and got an assist. 7
Obertan: Has that quelque chose de spécial. Just hope he can get more game time 6.5
I thought we had our swagger back today and played with great tempo from the offing. A bit of fine tuning we'll be back kickin it big time. We could do with a striker with pace up top, whether one of our young starlets wanna step up and stake a claim or we buy someone I think that may be the push we need up top to win something this year.If we had Saha up front instead of the ponderous Owen we'd have caned them.

Evra was fantastic Raphael was great and because of his booking he was not in an at them so much in the second as he was worried about getting a card.
Also I would have gone for Anderson and not Carrick but after he scored I thought well thats that then.

VDS: 7 - Calm, competent and completely retired from making even slightly difficult saves. Still, at least he's not young Benjamin/the Polish clown.
RdS: 7 - Yet again, never a booking. Recklessly enthusiastic. Got flattened by Distin.
PE: 1 - As t&c rightly points out, completely at fault for everything and did absolutely NOTHING apart from single-handedly occupy Everton's right flank for the entire 90 minutes.
Wesley: 7 - Orange Paul McGrath.
NV: 7 - Recovering his form with swinging elbows/off-the-ball niggles. Good stuff.
AV: 7 - Limited but growing in confidence. Fast rivalling Super Fwank as the Premier League's deflection king.
MC: 6.5 - Leggy, pitifully slow but generally quite decent.
Berba-Fletch: 8 - All action whining/refereeing from Caledonia's finest. Excellent shift.
Sir Ryan: 5 - Still a lovely mover but repeatedly gave the ball away and took trademark rubbish corners. Retirement beckons.
Papa Waz: 6.5 - Moved/linked well but little end product. Neither bad nor good.
EMO: 3 - Despite his MotD golfing pals bizarrely bigging him up, his touch/finishing was absolutely appalling. What's the point in moving if you can't control the football?
PS: 7 - Quality. Our only midfielder who can truly control a game. As a watching fan, its so hard to guess where he's going to pass.
GO: 6 - Pas mal.
DG: 5 - Balding. Awkward-looking. Not a Utd player.

I guess the mathematicians amongst you are dying for some numbers to back this up! In a match ideal for EMO to exhibit his talents i.e. A 1st half were UNITED had 71% of possession & were camped in the Everton half(N.B. EMO was strangely playing behind ROONEY who managed 52 touches in the 1st half), EMO managed a grand total of FOURTEEN touches in the half! And his overall performance failed to improve in the 2nd half. Lineker did at least manage to qualify his support for EMO going to the WC saying that IF he was starting regularly for United & IF he was scoring lots of goals! Those are MIGHTY BIG IF's at this stage!
