a bit harsh on scholes. the sending off was a dreadful decision. also berbatov deserves an 8. the guy was superb and, along with anderson and evra, our best player on the day.

Foster 8, great save - starting to look the part; O'Shea 7, no-one deserved a 6!; Ferdinand 7, solid; Vidic 8, superb; Evra 8, the best FB in Europe; Fletch 8, again; Schole 7 - (should have been 9 but for the "tackles"); Giggs 9, Masterful; Anderson 8 - great goal; Rooney8, should have had a hat-trick; Berbatov 8, sorry to see him come off. SAF 10 - for shutting the Wilmslows up...

Good perfromance all round. I must admit I was a bit perturbed when I saw the team but Giggs and Scholes (apart from tackling) both played well. Best performance I have seen from Anderson until he appeared to tire. Berbatov was pretty good and Rooney put in a great shift and a superb effort for his goal. Well done lads!

Is the 7 for Rooney the bonus on top of the 10 his performance obviously merited ?

Lovely play by Rooney, Berbatov and Giggs. They deserve 8's. Also, solid Anderson, and a rather shaky Vidic. Good win United :)

Anderson does make such a difference! Midfield dynamo.

Were you watching the same game? Scholes was superb (8), Rooney, Fletcher & Giggs were outstanding (9) and Berbatov (8) actually looked like a seasoned United professional. He displayed fantasic awareness and positioning throughout the game; he even (for once) played his heart out in terms of effort. despite his goal, I thought Anderson, not for the first time, went missing too often in the middle of the park.

Foster is growing into the keeper told about. Brilliant reflekses. If he can get bossy, he'll be a world beater. 7
O'Shea was very good. Providing support up front, not doing any wrong in defence. 7
Rio. Some blipses due to lack of games but growing into the good oldie partnership with Vida. 6,5
Vidic. King in the air, never misplaced and battling for every ball. 7
Evra. Left back, left midfielder, left winger. Got coocky Lennon crashing back on the earth. Brilliant. 9
Fletcher. Winning balls, covering space, providing passes, getting to chances and now even shoting from distance with both accuracy and power. Coming United captain! 9
Scholes. Good first half but again headless tackle got him the forst yellow. Sir Alex should have learned that when that happens; rip him off before the ref does! 6
Anderson. Brilliant first half and very good finish put us in front at a vital time. Faded after the break but this was a solid step forward - something to build on. 7
Giggs. His influence is as vital as his direct impact. Do not undersetimate that point. 7
Berbatov. Lacked only the goal but what a player! Did some cantonaish stuff out there and he's now founding the so far missing understanding with players like Rooney and Fletcher. 7
Rooney. World class goal and created chances on his own. Should learn to vary his shoting when cutting in from the left - not only aiming at the nearest corner. But his technique combined with his pace, workrate and agression makes him special! 8
Nani. Nice moves, brilliant in tight situations. 7
Carrick. Could have had a goal or an assist but bad judgement spoiled that one. But ok cameo. 6

I don't think it was harsh. In trying to be a little lenient and let the game flow things looked like getting out of hand with brash challenges. There was no need for his challenge after a card previous and other dubious tackles. He could have and should have stayed on his feet. He knows he has not mastered that aspect of the game with aplomb. Too bad because he was playing well today. Congrats to the lads for holding on and indeed not sitting back and hoping for the best. Some very good performances from the team today.

Great TEAM performance today...no less than 7's all around. Berba, Evra, Rooney, Anderson, and Fletch all get 8's. Giggs out wide on the left should make a few of the regular posters on here happy...a turn-back-the-clock solid performance from the greatest professional in the game today. Slow Danny and others will slate him, but days like today are exactly the reason I'm happy his is still in the squad.

Giggs will tear you apart...again.

All 8's except Rooney 9 and Anderson 7 (never got to the speed of the game). Scoles probably a 7 for being sent off but I thought the second yellow was harsh.

think anderson was the best man, rooney's running and goal absolutely world class

giggs getting old

fletcher has some trouble in passing the ball...... and berbatov didn't move, should get a 5

evra world class

Fergie should have subbed Scholes off before 60 minutes as he was looking knackered even then, so a second yellow was always on, IMO. Fletch MOM, Evra very close to that, Vida & Rio soild. Anderson, terrific also, one of the few times w'e've seen him play that attacking CM role, and he did it so well. Giggs, better, but I'm still not convinced he should be starting regularly, nor Scholes. JOS, soild as ever, vastly underrated, (right Danny?). Berba unluicky not to have had a couple, Wazza, the usual 100% all round effort, lovely goal too.

Much, much better, let's hope for more of the same to come.

Great football! Evra was magnificent, Scholes and Giggs proved that they still have a lot of tread left on their tyres.

Great performance all around. Fletcher was dominant and Evra stiffled Lennon. Anderson seemed to regain some solid form, too; hopefully his goal will be a sign of things to come! The only negative was Scholes' typically wreckless tackling (he was good apart from that); but, the second yellow card was very harsh. (If only he would learn to stay on his feet!) Solid effort from Berbatov, too. It was encouraging to see the number of give-aways decline so much. Good to see Ferdinand back in partnership with Vidic. Couldn't say much about that first goal, but "wow!" Spurs didn't show too much of a threat after that. Very high praise for the team!

It takes a big man to admit when you're wrong, and I'm only 5ft 8ins, but I have to confess I thought Fergie had gotten his line-up all wrong pre-game, but I thought we were excellent today. really pleased for anderson. can't wait for next sunday!!!!

Fletcher in my opinion created the space for Anderson to keep United ticking over well. I liked the partnership a great deal and it was the best display from United as far as flow and passing went. Great job Fletcher and Anderson. Evra is having a great season and he is by a mile the best full back in the league. I found Vidic's passing very poor which put United under some pressure far too often. His concentration was not good and I hope that he is not unsettled. Wonderful save by Foster.

Foster 7, OShea 5, Ferdinand 6, Vidic 5 1/2, Evra 8, Scholes 6, Giggs 7, Anderson 8, Fletcher 8, Berbatov 7, Rooney 7

People talk about Cashley Tweed as best left back in the world but he couldnt lace Evras boots. Know that!

Scholes sending off is a blessing in disguise. Playing against speedy opponents, he is a disaster waiting to happen.
