Vidic's Barca 'dream'

UNITED have been put on red alert after reports in Spain claimed Nemanja Vidic is eyeing a move to Barcelona.

The Serbian interntional's agent, Paolo Fabbri, was reported as saying it was Vidic's dream to move to the European Champions.

He has since denied the claims, but it is yet more unwanted speculation about the 27-year-old's future.

Vidic has been linked with moves to Barca and Inter Milan in the last six months, but Sir Alex Ferguson has so far resisted any attempts to lure him from Old Trafford.

And after losing Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez this summer, the United boss will not welcome more speculation about another one of his stars.

Fabbri is reported to have told Radio Catalunya: "It would be a dream for Vidic to play for Barcelona as he wants to play in La Liga.

Decision

“But if we are realistic United have just lost Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez and don't want to lose another key player.”

He has since denied the comments, saying: "Nemanja is happy in Manchester. If Barcelona do make an offer for him then it is up to United to make a decision."

Vidic has been a resounding success since moving to United in 2006 in a £7m deal from Spartak Moscow. But he has made it clear that he has struggled to settle in Manchester, with his wife, Ana, keen to live elsewhere.

Barcelona would be his preferred destination, but any suggestion that he wants to leave United would spark a clamour from Europe's top clubs.

Though Ferguson will not sanction a move this summer, he could be ready to do business at the end of the season, particularly with the emergence of Jonny Evans at the heart of United's defence.

She's struggled to settle in Manchester !! Bloody hell she's from Serbia for christsakes !! Judging by the way he played in the final his head is already there and judging by the way he played Torres at OT he was already building bridges with the Spanish public.

I am sick of these want aways. We are Manchester United. Get rid before they become a cancer.

It doesn't surprise me that players want to move to la liga, but it seems that many of them are confusing real and barca as the entire of la liga, which is far from the truth, essentially it's the SPL but a lot warmer, with 2 sides dominating.

The premier league remains the best league in the world due to the depth of quality teams and continued investment.

Vidic is a great player and maybe he does fancy a change, again, there's nothing you can do about it if someone wants away - all clubs face this, not just united.

If it is the case he won't be allowed to leave now, as SAF and team will have to have a replacement in place immediately. Vidic plays well with rio but not as well with other centre halfs, and with rio's injuries i'm sure the scouting networking are already eyeing up suitable replacements.

Fear not my friends, united are a quality operation and will ensure the next steps are in place.

Where have all the men gone? If I was earning hundreds of thousands of pounds every month meaning my family never ever had to go without or work and then the missus turned round and said she didn't like her life she'd be getting shown the door lively. A footballer's career is only a short one, surely she can put up with us Mancs (and her husband playing for a little old team called Manchester United) for a bit longer until she returns to the Serbian Riviera........... Nemanja has obviously never taken her to the curry mile......

Given the current tax exemptions afforded Spanish based players it would come as little surprise if Vidic and his agent were attempting to create a transfer to Barcelona. If that is the case then SAF should be looking for a long term replacement right now. Although Johnny Evans has potential he lacks the strength and hardness required of a Centre-half.

There's no chance that he's going anywhere with 12 days of transfer window left. He'll go next summer for 30mil along with Giggs, Scholes, Neville and Fergie. In will come Mourinho and the new era will begin.

OK, I'll try again and hope it doesn't censored this time. Silvano Martina is Vidic's agent. Paolo Fabbri has a financial interest. Martina and maybe Fabbri are due in Manchester to open talks on a new contract for Vidic. So it's no surpise that a story linking him to another club appears and quickly gets denied. Negotiating tactic.

Isn't Vidic's agent supposed to be in the process of negotiating a new contract at United with an increased salary? I can't see why he would want this transfer speculation to get in the way of the negotiations, oh hang on ......
