City a 'small club' - Fergie

UNITED boss Sir Alex Ferguson has dismissed Manchester City as a "small club with a small mentality".

Sir Alex lashed out at the Blues over the club's decision to put up a billboard poster of Carlos Tevez and the words "Welcome to Manchester" following his decision to quit Old Trafford and move to Eastlands.

Speaking in South Korea, Ferguson was asked about the poster, clearly aimed to wind up United fans by playing on the fact that Eastlands lies within the boundaries of the city of Manchester while Old Trafford is just over the border with Trafford.

“It's City isn't it?” said Ferguson. “They are a small club with a small mentality.

“All they can talk about is Manchester United; they can't get away from it. They think taking Carlos Tevez away from Manchester United is a triumph. It is poor stuff.”

Ferguson also said striker Emmanuel Adebayor wanted to see if United or Chelsea would sign him before he completed a £25m transfer to City.

He added: "When someone offers you that kind of money, it is a big attraction.

“That is the reason they have gone there. At the last minute, from what I can gather, either Emmanuel Adebayor or his agent phoned us after they had agreed a deal with City and then did the same with Chelsea. He was desperate to get to either Chelsea or us.”

Alex Ferguson has just revealed his true colours and continued lack of class once again.
This guy is an embarrassment to the club,this country and to think he was awarded a knighthood.

Ferguson is a hypocrite. Last season he criticised Benetez for calling Everton a small club but it's OK for him to do the same thing. And, Ferguson, show me where City have been talking about United. From where I'm sat it's you who is consistently talking about City.

And whilst were talking about hypocrisy that banner you have in your ground about City, the one you removed last season and put straight back up again after the Munich derby, just shows how obsessed United really are about their neighbours. When you take that down for good perhaps you can then whine when we do it.

Ha Ha Ha We've got under the old man's skin all he does now is talk about City what really winds him up is that we can buy players and he can't gone are the days when he could lash out on big money transfers now he has to buy from the likes of Wigan and take a punt on has-been ex Liverpool player who couldn't get in the area never mind score for Newcastle. No Mr Ferguson you can only spend what the banks let you and you know that your days are numbered the big four are worried and we are loving it As regards class, and the Tever poster, remember the Munich game? and how the posters that you allow the Stretford end cockney morons to display about City were taken down for that game well you need to clean up your own Trafford back yard before you point at others

Fantastic, just the response we all wanted. He's stung coz City had Tevez tied up for months but didnt let manyoo know. They withdrew the offer on 8.6.9. n manyoo's transfer plans shot. Nice One.

all ferguson has done this week is talk about city, he is clearly distracted by what is going on in manchester. Ferguson takes every opportunity to have a swipe at city so we just take this in our stride and will let the football do the talking next season....

Completely agree with SAF, particularly when considering City's behaviour over the last few weeks. His comment: 'All they can talk about is Manchester United... is spot on, too. You only have to log onto the MEN's United website page to see the truth of this. On occasions, there have been more comments from Bitters fans on a topic exclusively United than from United's fans. For too long the highlight of City's season has been a victory over United and most of the country believe that City fans prefer a victory over United than a good cup run. That's what SAF meant when he said they are a small club with a small mentality. And, as for the poster welcoming Tevez to Manchester, how idiotic was that? The guy won two Premierships, a League Cup, a Champion's League and a world championship while playing for United. That piece of purile nonsense really does put a cap on SAF's comment about them having a small mentality - and doesn't Fergie know it!

Fergie must be absolutely Gutted. When he arrived in Greater Manchester in the mid eighties a major part of his master plan would have been to kill off Manchester City once and for all. Total dominance of Manchester for the red quarter with City reduced to bit part players. He is now 20 years plus into the job and he has been extrememly successful, however right at the death - Fergie nearly being retired - a white steed has emerged from the shadows brandishing the shield of Abu Dhabi. City are saved.

Fergie must suddenly see his 20 year crusade to kill the blue side smashed to smithereens. A full career ripped apart in the blink of an eye. Sure he's won a swag full of trophies, he's been brilliant for United and only an idiot could deny this.

However, right through the last 20 years the legions of City suporters stayed loyal despite having nothing to show for it. Now the future of Manchester is blue for the Abu Dhabi saviours are here for the long haul and if and when they leave their mission will be accomplished as City will be a stand alone success story.

All Fergie sees though are his plans for retirement and eternal adulation shot to pieces. ADUG are here and will ensure that when old bacon chops shuffles off the managerial coil he will barely be missed amongst the headlines emanating out of the blue side.

It's almost a shame.

I think he need to look at himself and his own clubs history.
without manchester city manure would not exist anymore
we let Manure play at main road for donkey's years when The swamp was bombed, we also paid there wages for a time to stop them going out of business.

I can't see manure doing any of that

Methinks this is all getting to Sir Alziemer.
First lose your best players because they don`t want to play for you ,then being away and not being able to Taxi Ade to Ot from Manchester Airport.

And loads of top strikers in Europe on the move and absolutely no mention of any of them rocking up at the swamp.

Just one last small point,the player he claims is not worth £25m,would have actually cost Yoonited £35m or was the £10m loan cost forgotten,memory like a eeerrr ? what was it again?
