The former Liverpool hitman has scored two goals in as many appearances for his new club - suggesting he is ready to turn back the clock after four miserable years at Newcastle.
Brown is convinced his strikes against Malaysia Select XIs are just the start of things for come for the 29-year-old, who he believes will prove another transfer masterstroke by Sir Alex Ferguson.
Fergie hopes the former European Footballer of the Year can provide some of the goals that will be missing following the departures of Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez, and Brown has no doubt his one-time England colleague will deliver.
"It's a good start for him," said the defender. "I think it is a great signing for us. I knew him when we were younger and you know what he can do.

"It says it on his record - he is going to be a tremendous signing for us. He scores goals and with the chances he will provided with us, I am sure he will do that."
Owen and Antonio Valencia are United's most significant signings this summer, though Fergie may yet dip into his massive transfer war chest before the start of next season.
But Brown insists the Premier League champions already have enough quality to become the first English club to win four titles on the trot, adding that the time had come to let Ronaldo go to Real Madrid.
"Ronaldo always wanted to go," he said. "He's been a great player and people have to remember that.
"The club got a lot of money for him and now we just move on. We've done it many times before and I'm sure we'll do it again.
"We've got the squad with players who have done it many times and we've got the younger players coming in who did well last season."
What do you think? Have your say.

Another article about that man Owen, and people thought that Ronaldo was a superstar but he never had this many stories about him! Just keep smiling Mikey!
Well said Wes...True Mancunian
Were gonna win the League..So now your gonna believe us
Were Gonna win the League!
It's an owen lovefest
Wait for mame Diouff then you will see more action greatest talent on the planet!
I think he's gonna be SAF best ever deal...and I don't think he'll suffer from injuries either, he's playing for a proper footbal club now :p
Has Wes been reading the press?
Everyone (that matters) agreed this ages ago.
Signing Owen is a no brainer and we are looking solid and difficult to beat but that is not the Utd way. We played most of last season in that manner and it was successful if a little dull. I still fancy a signing or 2 will come in. No doubt Villa, Aguero, Young and Costa are being monitored and if Barca are buying Ibrahimovic, i suspect they will not sign Villa and i can't see him going to Real now. Valencia will be getting desperate so perhaps Fergie is waiting to secure at a good price. i hope waiting doesn't play into the Kop's hand once they have the Alonso money?
wesley speaks! good on you wes. had heard a few nasty rumours that he might be on his way this summer, so glad to see not so-i hope!
get that right back slot back now. a true defender. da silva may look nice going forward, but he is not there as a defender yet.
here's to a right good season, with wes steaming in
This is scary, but i do agree to so some point with Danny, Wilmslow.
Diouf has been looking better and better every year playing in Norway, and his potential is enormous. However, despite being top goal scorer in the Norwegian League, his finishing is not very impressive. If he can cool down infront of goal, there is no doubt in my mind that he will be a great signing.
sparky salford, i think costa will come eventually ..possibly even this summer but villa has said so many times he wont leave spain and liverpool would be the only club in england hed move to at a push i think if they sell david silva then that 20 mill will solve their problems for now ...wont happen for us and big smack in the face to kiko now if fergie even bids for him- young would also be a possiblity ,but then nani looks more vunerable and again fergie seems to be sticking by him..... cost
rubbish applauding rubbish.
enjoy the new era swampies.
danny, WILMSLOW hope this Douff lad as good as you believe him to be looks good in the clips alright but he might need a while to adjust to our style of play and the PL is the fastest league in europe. We might not see much of him when he arrives in january we usually blood our young players in reserves for a while and slowly introduce them towards the end of the season similar to what happened with Tosic.Getting a bit sick of all these posts about Owen prefer to talk about Valencia for a change does anyone know if he be ready for are friendlies when we return to Europe..
Gotta love Wes Brown aint ya! Hope he is back at RB for the start of the season, John O'Shea did a job last year but is never gonna set the world alight.
Feeling VERY confident for next season, Macheda continues to impress and i think it will be a big year for that lad!
abu dhabi city group, we are talking about wining the league and challenging for Champions league, not challenging for 5th-20th place. What are you doing here?
