The former Liverpool, Real Madrid and England striker completed a series of stringent medical tests this evening and has signed a two-year deal with the champions.
Owen, 29, had earlier spent the day at United's Carrington training complex as the terms of his free transfer were thrashed out, after his contract with Newcastle finished at the end of last month.

On a side splittingly hilarious side issue...a bitter has just posted this on a thread on their page..
It's the same problem that man u are suffering in that they lack the glamour that Barca, City and Real have
So now city are on a par with barca and real
lol, sad delusional idiots

And, if he works out, the England forwards for the world cup will get alot of playing time together.
Why spend money when we can get decent cover up front for free?
Michael Owen said: "I had just begun to talk to other Clubs when out of the blue Sir Alex phoned me on Wednesday afternoon, invited me to have breakfast with him next morning during which he told me that he wanted to sign me. I agreed without a moment's thought.
This is a fantastic opportunity for me and I intend to seize it with both hands.
I am now looking forward to being a Manchester United player and I am fortunate that I already know so many of the players here. I missed pre season last year and am pleased that I will be starting at Carrington from day one.
I want to thank Sir Alex for the faith he has shown in me and I give him my assurance that I will repay him with my goals and performances”
He costs nothing, and has appreciation for the opportunity this is. Think this will be a golden opportunity for both player and club.
Hope we draw Real in the CL and thrash them.

Remember he brought in Sheringham and Larsson and they were both great signings. It might just be the incentive Owen needs to re establish himself as a top class player. Here's hoping!

Oh, and apparently the Scousers always hated Owen and he was rubbish for them, so it's all good.

I haven't laughed so much since ETO banged one past you last May.
I reckon the best thing Owen will do for you lot is sell a few shirts and provide fantastic training practice for your physio department. It's my betting that the other injury prone Owen ' Hargreaves' will play more games than this Michael Owen; even with 2 broken knees!!
Ha Ha Ha !!!!
