From Rome to Kuala Lumpur via the Cote D'Azur, Sir Alex has been reflecting, resting and is now restructuring ready to tackle his 23rd full season at Old Trafford.
It has been 35 days since the pain of the Champions League final defeat against Barcelona.
It is 19 days until United start their first match of the Far East pre-season tour in Malaysia.

Ideally, the Reds boss will want to have his new look squad - without Carlos Tevez and Cristiano Ronaldo - in situ ready to fly out to the Far East next month.
But he'll know better than most that when you are after the calibre of performer United need, transfer business rarely runs smooth.
However, it looks more than likely that Ferguson will have Wigan's Antonio Valencia on the plane to Malaysia and integrated before the serious business begins in August.
Whether Ronaldo and Tevez defections took him by surprise or not he'll have been lay on a sun lounger in the south of France with numerous names whirling around his head to improve his champions.
Fergie will also no doubt have been re-running the Rome disappointment in his head and considering whether he has an Iniesta or Xavi in his ranks already or whether he'll have to buy the kind of midfielder who wrecked the Reds' dreams in Italy.
Check out the graphic on the right as M.E.N. Sport takes a serious and also tongue-in-cheek look at the potential `jobs to do' that are lined up for Fergie as he gets his head around another phase of his United career.

What have you got lined up for us this season I wonder?
Thanks for all the trophies so far, we can never, ever repay you

His mate, a United fan i have known for about the same time said "well, your all billionaires now at City...no recession for you Failsworth boys". Reading the comments from city fans on here, there is no doubt that there is many a true word said in jest. I cant wait to see my City neighbour when he pulls into the street in his Maserati, traded in for his 8 year old vauxall. Sheikh Rattle and Roll spreading the wealth amongst Tevez, Eto, Robinho, Santa Claus and Harry the Brick, Stockports No 1 block layer. Giddy and delusional...but all personally loaded and recession proof it seems. Sad. The blue tinted specs are on.

When you think about it, of all supporters the length and breadth of Great Britain, City fans are without doubt the most deserving of a sugar daddy. (Newcastle a close second) I just know in my bones that one day they are all going to come traipsing out of the ground and Sheikh Rattle and Roll will have 37,000 recession proof ferrarri's, wrapped in blue ribbons waiting under the 'B of the Bang' for his loyal supporters to drive back to Cheadle, Oprah Winfrey style. Mr Eto'o will have to comfort himself with 200k in his sky rocket every week.

Well said!
Danny, you are a cretin of the first order and getting worse by the day. Please go on holiday (and don't take a laptop with you).

Bobbydazzler - True but after all he's done for us fans and the wealth of the club, I bet it's still a drop in the ocean compared to his true worth. The guy lives and breaths United. Players are paid stupid money and half of them neither care or do enough for it. Fergie has earned every penny he gets and it is still not enough.
Also what I'm saying is that we fans can never repay him. I know it may seem like sentimental gush but there you are.

Ive read your posts for a very long time now and im dangerously close to reporting them for sheer idiocy. You are clearly not a genuine Manchester United supporter. Maybe the whirlwind circus of 'change' on the blue side of Manchester is more to your liking.
Now back on topic. Sir Alex has got plenty of work to do before the new season starts. We have to sort out our squad, determine those who are going out on loan, sold and of course trying to replace the players we have lost. Its not an easy task but if any manager can do it, he can. Fergie has rebuilt our side over and over again and we have remained competitive. Im sure he has the burning desire to do even better this season in all competitions. Bring on the challenge.

Only problem is the fool is a legend in his own toilet and would be better served giving his opinion on the benefits and challenges of varios loo rolls.
