Tevez drops Reds hint

CARLOS Tevez has dropped the clearest hint yet that he will leave United when his two-year 'loan' expires next month.

Tevez was a regular member of Sir Alex Ferguson's side last season.

But the South American's first-team opportunities have been severely restricted by Dimitar Berbatov's £30.75million move from Tottenham.

And now it appears Tevez is ready to call time on his Old Trafford career.

"Even if you score three or four goals, you do not play in another game. There are many very good players but I need to play," Tevez told Radio Del Plata.

"There are many players and they all need to play but I have not played in important matches."

Tevez's future has been the subject of intense debate for a number of months now.

Ferguson has decided not to discuss the matter any further, claiming the 24-year-old's future will be resolved in the summer.

United do have first refusal on Tevez's services but it is difficult to see the Glazer family sanctioning spending a reported £30million to turn the present arrangement into a permanent one.

And even if the Red Devils did come up with an offer, it appears the former West Ham star would reject it.

"I have many offers, not only from Spain," Tevez claimed.

"I need to see which club I can go to and what can be done.

"We must not only consider the money, I also have to ensure my family feel comfortable, especially my daughter. So I have a lot to think about."

This is all we need for the run-in!! Motivation is everything with Tevez - he wont be much good if he is de-motivated. This together with the Berbatov lack of passion/interest. I hope Ronaldo stays on his feet,keeps his arms by his side and produces a spectacular few weeks.
This team is running on empty,up front at any rate.

Can't blame him when he looks at Berbatov's contribution. Last year when Tevez was a regular,we were booming and scoring lots of goals.I think Berba has screwed up both Ronaldo and Tevez,affecting the performances of the whole team.OK,we may still win the League but we have moved backwards instead of forwards from last season.

It would be a tragedy to see Teves leave because a lazy lump like Berbatov gets more games then him.

Fergie needs to see sense and start trusting Teves again for gods sakes he won the champions league and league with us last season .

great guy but sadly he aint the kind of striker we are looking for. what we need is a eto'o, torres, benzema type of forward, with pace and finish. thanks a lot mate for your efforts.

It does look like he will be allowed to leave. I can see Ronaldo being given more of a central role next season, with Tosic, Nani, Park and Valencia as the wingers. Welbeck and Kiko promoted to back-ups for Rooney, Ronaldo and Berbatov. Apart from Valencia, other purchases will depend on SAF's belief in the long-term fitness of Brown and Hargreaves.

It's talent, craft, guile and clinical finishing ability we need in his position. Energy and headless chicken running about isn't good enough. This is why he will never make a United player and also why Berbatov has a chance of making it if he can adjust better next year.

A disaster if he leaves. I will be gutted anyway. He is one of our only warriors and deserves to be treated better. He would die on the pitch for us, how many other United "stars" are as committed in the red jersey as he is?

Anyway, until his loan period finishes Carlitos will still be Manchester United player. Therefore, I will support him 100%. In view of his permanent transfer, I do not think he is worth 32mil but even if we did not sign him, don't despair. For me its a marvellous business by SAF. We paid 6mil upfront for his loan and we get an established international for two full seasons and look what we have won. Personally, I think SAF brings him in because he has the ability to work in tight space and he can run all day. He is more suited to play behind Berbatov and Rooney. Pick the ball from centre midfield and quickly distribute it forward. That is the quality that we have been missing all season, and it makes our game less enjoyable to watch. More or less he is suited to play in the hole IMHO, because he doesnt need to head the ball and fight in the air. Berba can do that. But after all, Tevez is a very good player and I wish him well if he decides to leave OT.

IT LOOKS LIKE TEVEZ WILL LEAVE WHICH IS SHAME. HE HAD A GREAT FIRST SEASON BUT SEEMS TO HAVE LOST A BIT OF CONFIDENCE THIS YEAR, WHICH IS HARDLY SUPRISING GIVEN THAT FERGIE SEEMS TO THING BERBATOV DESERVES A FIRST TEAM PLACE OVER HIM. MOST UNITED FANS I KNOW WOULD HAVE TEVEZ STARTING OVER BERBATOV EVERY TIME.

I love Tevez. I love his commitment and endurance. I love his ability to score crucial late goals. I love the way he plays with his heart on his sleeve. All of that said, he isn't worth 32 million pounds. He's not worth 22 million pounds - at least not to this team.

The young strikers have shown that they will be able to step up in the coming year(s) and there are pressing needs elsewhere within the squad where 30m could be better spent. I hate to see him leave but I think it is inevitable...he deserves to be in the starting XI and Berbatov's price tag and presence on the team stands in his way. Berbatov has not set the world on fire but in honesty, neither has Tevez this season.

A smashing pro who gives his all. Sad it has come to this but he will not be the only one to finishing playing for Man U at the end of the season. Ronaldo to Madrid, Neville and Scholes to retire and Giggs to opt for selective games only.

Berbatov and rooney are in front of him on merit, so you can not spend 25million on someone to sit on the bench. I am sure SAF will assess Kiko, Welbeck, Campbell and manuchu in the summer,as which two will support rooney and berbatov next season.

I feel bad for Tevez. I feel more the way he has been treated at times isn't right or respectful. Its sad because SAF went so hard for Berbatov and can't/won't admit he MAY have got it wrong with that yet he'll stick by Berbs even though he has ofered little over the season imo. But can't seem to offer the same support to Carlito. Yes the asking price is far too high . United won't pay it but in all fairness others probably will so why shouldn't he take it. I really wish something could have been worked out, Maybe it can but I think his "owner" is too greedy to let him sign for less. Perhpas he should think about signing for less, then go and prove his worth to Sir Alex and renogotiate if his performance warrants. A little down about this. If Carlos moves on I will be saddened as I feel he has a genuine affection for our great club and supporters. I would wish him all the best and thank him profusely for his contribution. You never know maybe be something may be figured out .

I will repeat myself again, a flipping disaster if he is allowed to leave!!! watch him be the star player at next summer's world cup, take a look back at last season and go through the goals Carlos scored, in big games...chelsea(h),liverpool(a),tottenham(a),blackburn(a),lyon(a) to name but a few, whereas the great Dimitar Birtles, scores against whom?? the likes of Aalborg, WBA, Stoke...

...dont get me wrong, all goals matter, but how has Berba Birtles improved us this season? has he slowed down our attacks? YES!! has he affected the way Tevez & Ronaldo influence games? YES!! did he look like he give a damn about our club, the fans, the sacrifices we make to get to games? NO!! because he is a luxury who brings nothing to us...get rid and make sure he takes his pathetic attitude with him...he disgusts me!!

Love you Carlos!! please stay!! Fergie, sign him up!!

Tevez whatever people says is not worth signing at that price.Fergie made the mistake spending such an amount of money on Berbatov and it will be a bad idea doing the same with Tevez. When you see how much Torres costed bearing in mind is better than both you have to say that we have to start going for the right forwards (pace,strength and goalscorer).
Campbell is a no go for next season as I dont see how he can be considered for us after failing to break into the Spurs team.We need to send him on loan with the view of selling at a good price.Macheda and Wellbeck must be given more chances next season from the bench.

For all his workrate he doesn't produce enough. The fans like him for his 'honest endeavour' don't you just hate that word, it's what is wrong with British football. If we got him for 10 million maybe, but for 30 million you can get a decent player.

I would MUCH rather keep him (though 32mil is about 12-15mil too much) and sell Berba. Tevez cares, and it shows every split second. While Ive yet to notice that Berba has any passion or drive.

Hardly a suprise this. Yes he'll leave but looks like we have some good youngsters coming thorugh, so no worries.In fact we may well be better off. 25 mill better spent IMO.
