United approach Indian corporation

LAUNCH: United announce AIG deal in 2006
GIANT Indian corporation Sahara have been approached about the possibility of becoming Manchester United's next shirt sponsor.

United's current £14million-a-year deal with American bankers AIG is due to expire in the summer of 2010 and is highly unlikely to be renewed given the company required a massive bail-out from the US Federal Reserve last year just to keep trading.

It leaves the Red Devils trawling the planet looking for alternatives at a time of financial prudency.

Chief executive David Gill has previously indicated United were looking towards India for expansion, although a first visit to play a match has not been incorporated within this summer's Asia tour.

However Sahara executives are expected to consider United's initial approach, having enjoyed a fruitful sponsorship deal with the India cricket and hockey teams in recent years.

Other companies have been approached as well, with many experts predicting Saudi Telecom, already one of United's commercial partners, may be interested in strengthening their ties.

There have also been close dealings with Malaysia - where United will play in July - in recent years, so executives are bound to look at Kuala Lumpur as well.

City fans commenting on a United story again? I checked the City side, havent been there in a long time and I dont see this news story having anything to do with them. All I see is a failed bid for Kaka and Robinho walking out....

Bitters,

We have been told for the past week that Utd fans are obsessed with City and here you are back to confirm what we all know - you are obsessed with us.

Have you stopped crying over Kaka yet? Never mind that Robinho has walked out because you have the mega star Bellamy.........

You couldn't make it up.

Isn't it amazing how these scum mr bump and the other moron are more interested in our club's affairs than their own.

I suppose they'll have to have another interest seeing the pipe dream has long gone.

Speaking of shirt sponsors, the best of all time did belong to city, EIDOS. - Eleven Idiots Dreaming Of Success.

Priceless!

Yeah, City Fan, skint, but English and European Champions. Now go away and see if your deluded owners can find some more players to turn you down......

A Manc and blue skint? Since the Glazers arrival we have won the league twice the Champions League, World Club Championships are sitting pretty of the table and still in a chance of winning everything.

As for players we have the best sqaud in living memory, young and going from strenth to strength and still getting improved consistently.

As for ticket prices their not much cheaper over at the swamp watching bottom of the table battlers.

In fact City becoming the richest club in the world has only elated you from being the laughing stock of Manchester to the laughing stock of world football!

Like Beckham told you, there is only one team in Manchester a player like Kaka would sign for!

And the reason Robinho's trying to do a runner!

By the way i suggest getting bob the builder as your new sponsor as he works hard and although he aint rich he has more money then the yanks that are taking you down to the dogs-800mil counting-tick tock, any season of failure now could put you in the billions bracket, 33 years of nothing for us but getting closer and closer now and you lot know it an hate it-We Will Love It>>>>>

rossco(true blue down under), perth(western australia)

Didn't know western australia was in Manchester.

Is that not City's claim to fame - that all the fans who support them are from Manchester?

Your club's threads are below ours there on the left handside there's you'll be able to cry into your city shirt over the FAILED Kaka bid

Crocodile Dundee or whatever your name is.

Get a grip of yourself. the drivel you come off with is shocking.

You are so suited to city. Every time you say something you end up looking like a clueless fool - maybe that's because you are.

Nited approach the Indians, that'll be because you're already being run by cowboys! Good luck with the debt. I reckon Real will go for Kaka now so you're stuck with the winker and no £80 milion towards your debt. Tick-tock....
