VDS should no longer be number 1 Riena has saved the Pool so many times.
Anderson and Berbatov were the best players.
Nani, went quite what in the second half? Oh! You mean quiet.
Leaking to many Goals, that's a massive problem at the moment, if it goes to goal difference, well Chelsea will take the crown. need a steady keeper Alex mate.
United should beat teams like hull by 4 or 5, need to defend better. 3 more points in the bag thou.
A bit puzzled how the defenders have such high marks when we lost 3 goals at home to a team new to the division, also I bet someone berbatov would score twenty goals this season in the league, I wish i'd chosen assists, 6 games one tap in isn't good enough, are we pushing tevez out the door?
Take Anderson and Berbetov away and what you have is an abysmal display. I am so disappointed. We need to wake up else...
Very disappointed in Rooney today after a spectacular few weeks. Gave the ball away time and time again and his lashing out when he loses a tussle for the ball is pathetic. It really is time to grow out of this.
He was tremendous when Ronaldo was away and hopefully today and the Everton game was just a blip.
He is a great player and still my no.1 on the teamsheet but something seems to go off in his head every now and again.
Everyone down to a maximum of 5 due to the shambolic/ridiculous second half performance. SAF 4 for poor substitutions, why the hell did he sub off Nani and bring on Tevez, then sub off Carrick and bring on Giggs, sure Carrick was tired and not fully match fit, but surely Fletcher would have been a much better choice given his form of late, and we really needed some settling down, and Giggs didn't provide that. Rio...off in lala land and damn near cost us at least 2 points, but he has been great for us for a long time, so forgiveable, this one time.
We really seem to be missing CQ, never thought I'd say that, but I think he would have handled this much better than SAF and his present assistant(s). I'm sure Fergie's hairdryer will be working overtime for the next few days, and well it should. Get it sorted Fergie, this is happening far too often.
Well played Hull City, they deserved at least a point from this, we were bloody lucky today managing 3 points and picking up a couple on the Dippers.( Nice to see them get stuffed at the death for a change rather than the other way around).
I could spend all night going on about the brilliance of Berbatov and I now feel that United will let Tevez go either in January or the summer. Ronny's ego got in the way of a couple of passes today and even Berbie could have released a few balls to Rooney a bit quicker so it was no wonder frustration set in towards the end. Once Roo, Berbie and Ronaldo get used to playing with each other, no defence will stop us. Fletch and ANDERSON IS OUR FIRST CHOICE mid field for now and Raphael is much more suited to our style of play then Nev. We have to move on. Watch City go after Tevez in January. Way to go Stoke and Spurs. What a mess the Arse are in right now.
I agree with Danny, WIlmslow. We definitely will need to strengthen the squad in January. What I saw this morning was an absolutely shocking second half display. Almost gifting the game to Hull. Can't even remember the last time we conceded 3 goals at the theatre of dreams.
Anderson in midfield and then ??? looks like a difficult time ahead, but have faith we will overcome. The signing of Berbi was a master stroke, you can see that the team spirit as gone up beyound belief...Tevez will move on and come back to haunt us.
Anyway good 3 points taken from Hull...
Fantastic display of attacking football. Agree that Anderson was outstanding, but all the attackers were great, and should have put 6 or 8 in. Indeed, we did get 5 goals, but Rooney's was incorrectly declared off-side.
Pity about the last 15 minutes, when our defence let us down......
SAF shd note that all 3 goals from Hull came as weakness to our back fives.Needless to say that Tevez had no role to boost United side. Can the defenders including VDS appologise to his collegues for letting in the second.Dzefri
All sixes except Ronaldo and Anderson who were sevens.
vds 6 rio5 vidic 7 evra 6
andersen 7 carrick 7 ronaldo 6 nani 6
berbatov 8 rooney 4
Never mind the ratings, the fact Hull enjoyed nearly 50% possession at Old Trafford tells its own story. We were very, very sloppy; not just second half, but for most of the game.
VDS... 6 - competent/didn't do much wrong
Nev... 6 - honestly didn't notice he was playing
RF... 5 - outpaced for what was, despite Fergie's protestations, a nailed-on pen
NV... 6.5 - better than his ropey partner
PE... 6.5 - mostly good, bit slack letting his pal Mendy sneak in behind
CR... 7 - selfish (what's new?), not at his very best, but always a threat
Michelle... 6 - some good passes, some bad passes, won his usual share of 70/30 balls (ie 0/5)
Anderson... 8 - generally good, couple of wayward passes but took responsibility with his cocky samba strut
Nani... 6.5 - looked dangerous, surprised he was subbed, would like to see him get a decent run to really find his form
Waz... 4.5 - worked hard but had one of his clown's feet days - poor control, underhit/overhit/misdirected passes, frequently lost possession. Red mist tantrum begging for duly administered booking.
Berb... 6 - some lovely touches but I felt he was dwelling on the ball far, far too much. Having seen the highlights, it wasn't actually as bad as it seemed at the time, but he was still uncharacteristically short-sighted in delaying a simple pass to Roon second half.
Tevez... 5 - bit frantic and rubbish
Giggs... 3 - abysmal. Calling Alias! Can you give me Ryan's pass completion stats, please! Not good.
O'Pie... 6 - couple of useful clearing hoofs
Frantic is the word I've been searching for when it comes to Tevez. Don't know wheter he'll be less frantic if he get a start or two, but his style of play just seems to make disorder and just mess up any structure in our play. I'm very, very torned when it comes to Tevez and wheter we really should splash out what it takes to get him permanently.
My goodness, some of the comments here are over the top! A bit of complacency at the back - yes, terrible to concede 3 - and all of a sudden the manager is shite; the defence must be farmed out; Tevez is useless, etc, etc.
We played brilliant, flowing football. Still not at our prime, but wonderfull stuff. Beautiful to watch - silky, smooth flowing football that should have seen at least 6 if not 8 or 10 goals. So our finishing needs a bit more sharpness, but surely we're getting there.
But, as with Everton, maybe a bit of kick up the bum for getting too complacent. Says nothing about the QUALITY of this team - the best in Europe, dammit! - but does say something about a touch of arrogance which breeds complacency.
Do we need a new assistant manager; new players; a new manager - OF COURSE NOT, what whiners some of us can be. This is a GREAT team which is rapidly spitting fire - and the 6 goals are coming soon......
I thought United's attacking play was brilliant and despite some unusually poor defending, I can't believe how negative all the comments are.
Hull deserve a lot of credit and the future for United is great this season. The squad is perfect.
Ths so called fans who were praising Tevez last season & in pre-season are now saying hez useless. The Man C fans dont even make these kinda b.s comments. So wat he was useless against hull,The roon was worse & Tevez's poor performance is understandable due to lack of match fitness, confidence & the burden of trying to prove himself in 30 odd minutes or so he gets as a sub.I Bet if he started he would ve scored, hez definitely been unlucky this season & he deserves better,I bet he will fit into any other top European team & their fans would even appreciate his performances instead of criticising him for few bad performances-that too as a sub with little time remaining.
Berb may have played well but the praise hez receiving is worthwhile if he scored(which is his primary task btw) coz the assists he provides can be done by ron, roon, ando, nani, carrick, etc which is their task. If he was bought to provide more assists & improve overall play then Tevez can also do that like he did lasr season linking many attcks & providing assists.
How do you get 6's and 7's at the back when you concede 3 goals like that after being up 4-1? It was 6's and 7's at the back, but that's not player ratings.
Some of the comments on here are rediculous. Some of you seem to think that teams should lay down and die at Old Trafford. Give Hull the credit they deserve for not giving up at 4 - 1 down like a lot of teams would have done. We did take the foot off the pedal but some of the football we produced was breathtaking at times and with a little more luck, or possibly composure, we could have scored seven or eight. Rooney did get frustrated because several times he was in the clear but Ronaldo, Nani and even Berbatov didn't deliver when they should have done. It was a great match even if it did get the nerves jangling in the last few minutes.
Vds6:Rio5 vidic 5 Evra 6
Anderson 8 Carrick 5 Ronaldo8 Nani6
Berbatov 8 Rooney 4 Tevez 4.
United played really in the first half but when the result was confirmed players started to think about the next CL match. United should have scored at least 8 goals. Dominated a weak Hul side. The result is not right so don't blame SAF or the defense...football does this kind of suprises.
Berbatov, Anderson and Ronaldo were really good. If Berbatov starts to move like Ibraimovic is doing now(under Mourinho coaching)he has the same type of class to reach his level. Amazing touch and I can understand why SAF benches Tevez but to be honest Rooney should have the same rotation in the bench, his last two games were a disgrace and he shows a very selfish side. Tevez is not a worse player than Rooney just needs to get is confidence back. Don't take me wrong, Rooney has moments of brilliance and some of his passes, reading of the game are really great but when he doesn't sleep well he gets in to his murder attitude and was lucky to not get a red card.
Ronaldo is back in business and 2 more goals and as Berbatov amazing skills. Good to see him back and he might come close from last years goal rate. Anderson is a bit closer from his best position and if he feels protected by a proper DM he will even become better. Carrick is not the man.
Valtinho, watch out! The Carrick police will be unleashing their hounds in the direction of Lisbon! Alias will be jumping on a plane ready to batter you to death with a Telegraph stat!
Apparently, Carrick's NOT a slightly above average midfield nobody; he's some kind of unique fusion of defensive screen and deep-lying passing visionary.
In short, one of the top midfielders in world football... as he showed away at Barca, for example, standing frozen in terror as poor Scholesy was left to battle it out on his own.
All in all an entertaining game! Was a little worried last 10minutes though! Here's how i rate the players!
VDS; 6, not alot he could do for the goals really.
GN; 6, good servant, but does not deserve the nod ahead of Wes! forgot he was playing!
RF; 5, lack of concentration which is annoying considering the talent he has!
NV; 7, put his body on the line yet again, best form is returning!
PE; 6, always a threat going forward, Mendy caused him problems though!
MC; 6, some nice passes, some wayward passes, goal was well taken!
Anderson; 8, excellent performance, starting to hit form!
Nani; 7, Good first half, needs a steady run of games and his consistancy will increase.
CR; 8, took goals well, should have scored more though, and is a selfish as ususal. still the biggest goal threat we have!
DB; 7, first touch is outstanding, seem to create alot more than i expected! could do with a prem goal or 2 though!
WR; 4, jumping around like a kid most of the game. his touch was poor, passing poor, and lucky not to get sent off! maybe some time on the bench may bring back the form of only 2 games back!
