Saha set for Everton switch

LOUIS Saha is set to move to Everton after the Toffees agreed a two-year deal with the Frenchman.

The 30-year-old's move to Goodison Park, where he will join former Red Phil Neville, is subject to a medical. He has been offered a two-year contract with the option of a one-year extension.

Saha joined United in January 2004 for just under £13million, but despite showing fine form when fit, a series of injuries have limited his presence in the first team.

His four years in a United shirt have yielded 42 goals from 123 appearances.

Last term the forward was struck down again by knee problems and he made just 10 starts with 13 sub appearances and he contributed five goals to the Reds' double-winning season.

But Saha has not featured at all in United's pre-season or start to the Premier League campaign.

Now Everton boss David Moyes will be hoping he leaves his bad luck behind in Manchester.

We REALLY need to get Berbatov or someone in now that Louis is going.

Only having two strikers in Rooney and Tevez is leaving the door wide open for huge problems if either one of those two get injured.

Manucho is ages away from competitive match fitness, and you have to wonder will he be able to cut it at the highest level.

Anyway, good luck at Everton Louis.

We have gotta complete the Berbatov deal now, leaving ourselves with only Tevez & Rooney with Campbell as back up would be madness.

pity he never really had a good run of luck at united, coz there would be no need for berbatov if he did.

surely berbatov will go through now though as there would be no way we'd sell Louis if not.

I can't understand why people are so concerned about him leaving I mean we've managed without him so long its not likely to have any impact whatsoever.....

Adios sicknote . Im sorry that we didnt get more from him. Louis was a top player and is exactly the sort of player we badly need. Just a pity he was constantly injured.

why some people keep talking about thierry henry??he was seen in a taxi the day before in manchester...And yesterday ian wright added he heard the doctor said thierry henry had a medical just before wright phillips...i'm so curious.it will be stupid coz thierry henry cant play for us in the champions league and he's like saha now with all his injuries

Why not sign the Arshvin too just to rub the idiots in the boardroom of spurs right in it and show them not to mess with a really club!

There must be something happening behind the scenes, maybe weve decided to cave to Tottenham and we are freeing up some funds?-or maybe we are making a space on the bench for one of our younger players.

MUFC1878, we didn't really have Saha last season, so if he leaves we are weakened more in numbers than in goals scored or performances. Manucho arrives to boost the numbers back up, so it's not a huge loss in that respect.

Manucho shouldn't be out too long. He'll be back in training in a week or so. His fitness isn't the big issue as he'll probably be used as an impact player from the bench until he integrates into the team after training with them for a while.

If Saha's move is confirmed, it might suggest other things are happening but the reality is that he was told earlier in the summer that he should find himself another club. He still has to pass a fitness test.

SURELY this means the Berbatov deal is done?? Otherwise, letting one of our few experienced forwards go seems like a massive risk. Rumours abound that Henrik Larsson is on his way back to the Premiership....wouldn't surprise me if this was our back-up plan should Berbatov not arrive. Anyway, good luck Louis (especially with passing your medical), you were great on those one or two occasions when you were fit.

Shame- cos saha is class - but never fit - so what the hell.
This means Berba is coming....dont worry about how much for.... it'll be about 28 mill - overpriced for his age etc - but so what? he will fit perfectly with rooney and tevez. and with ronaldo and nani we will have the perfect blend of pace, skill, flair and power in our attack.
manucho might be good too...

Just hope that this means that someone is on their way to play up front for us, otherwise it's going to be a very long, very trophyless season.....

There's a No 9 shirt available for someone.Saha took virtually no part in last season's achievements and will not be missed.If UNITED don't get Berbatov and Frazier or Manucho don't fit the bill, the goals will come from somewhere.We have no excuse for not trying to defend our titles.Let's be positive about it we have goalscorers all over the pitch.

Berbatov's obviously coming if this true. But concerns about a strict medical must raise doubts. OH passed his though. Can't see the fee being large but his wages will save the Tampa crew corn.

I will miss one of my all time favourites. A player who was highly responsible for our 2007 season premiership. I always dreaded him when he was with Fulham.

steve glossop don't worry everton will be using the doctor united used when signing hargreaves. so it should be no problem as he wont pick up any long term illnesses. the moneys already in the bank.

decent player but far too injury prone and possibly psychologically not right.

im glad he has gone as it frees up cash and wages and a space on the treatment table! maybe hargo will play more now he doesnt have anyone to chat to in the physio room!

hopefully this means berba is gonna be going through - would be good to finally get him and get few training sessions under his belt before the scouse match
