Sir Alex Ferguson's assistant tasted the Bernabeu experience when he coached Real in 2003/04 - only to be booted out after just one season.
Ronaldo was ambiguous when questioned over his Reds future following Wednesday's Champions League triumph. He said: "I don't promise anything to anyone, even my mum!
"I want to stay, of course, but no-one knows what will happen in the future.
"No-one has said anything to me, we will see in the next two weeks."
But Queiroz says it is vital that Ronaldo ignores Madrid's undisguised overtures.
"It is important for us and it is important for him, because he knows we are the best club for him," said Queiroz.
"He has made a fantastic development in the last five years. At 23, he is young and he has a lot of things still to achieve at our club.
"And we think we have a lot of things to give him as well.
"I was at Real Madrid, so I know what I am talking about it. Real Madrid is not like Manchester United. There are times there when you don't know who is in charge - whether it is the press or the club.
"It is not like England or some other countries, where the institutions are independent. Here, everyone works in the same direction.
"He and I have talked about this. You have to remember this speculation about his future is coming from the right arm of Real Madrid - from certain newspapers, which we know all about."
Queiroz's own future has been the subject of rumours this term; he has been linked with the vacant Benfica job.
"I didn't want to talk about Benfica during the season and feed that speculation," he added.
"I have a deal with Manchester United and I'm part of this project. I'm a key member of a huge staff which is very committed to the club and I'm very relaxed about that."
Wednesday night's victory in Moscow saw Sir Alex Ferguson become only the third British manager - after Bob Paisley and Brian Clough - to win the European Cup more than once.
Fergie's achievement brought a glowing tribute from Queiroz.
"There is no doubt he is the best manager of his generation," said the Reds assistant boss.
"If trophies mean anything in football, then there is no way anyone else can compete against him. He has 23 major trophies. We are in a winning business and he is the best.
"I have learned a lot of things from him. When you are side by side with him, one of the things that is easy to understand is his ability to make the right decisions for the club, whether they be about the players, the staff or games. But you see the best of Alex in the moments of a season when we have some nightmares.
"He comes in every morning with a smile on his face and bursting with confidence that we can do the right thing for the club, and that is an amazing side of him.
Singing
"When you think things are going to be sad, he arrives the next day singing and smiling and with a fantastic sense of humour.
"It is amazing. But in those difficult moments, that helps us relax and do the job we have to do.
"He just supports us and helps us stay strong and do our best for the club. He only has positive words for me and the rest of the staff and the players. He never let us down. He is always out front driving the team forward."
Queiroz says that he left United for Madrid in 2003 with Fergie's blessing. "When I went to Madrid, Alex advised me about the political environment there," he said.
"But he left the decision on my head. Of course, I couldn't refuse the name of Real Madrid.
"I will never forget his words. He said to me: `Go to Madrid. I'm happy for you, because if you didn't make that decision I would be disappointed in you'. So I went to Real.
"He constantly supported me.
"When things got difficult there, I will never forget how he bought me lunch and a nice bottle of wine and said: `You always do what is best for your club. But if something is wrong, you always have a home at United'.
"So when the season finished, I had one or two options, some of which were better than Manchester.
"I have never said this before - but because of the support he gave me, I never had any doubt that this was the job to come back to.
"In the worst moment of my career, when we lost a couple of games at Real Madrid - and lost in the Spanish Cup - he told me I had a place here."

Without out him there’s no way we would have the squad we have now NOR the two big shiny trophies :-)

SAF is rightly acknowledged as a great but perhaps he is less credited for his ability to work well with colleagues.
Top manager and top man-manager.

so for clarity. Real Madrid are the scum of european football. a club with politics but no shame and no honour. They control Marca & As to write destabalising stories and then plead innocence.
Their attempts to get Ronaldo effectively ended 5 years ago when they fired Quieroz. As I have said I suspected before - and now he confirms - he has let Ronaldo know in no uncertain terms just what a bunch of (insert expletive)s they really are.

now that has gotta be something to be proud of, he deserve the trophy just as much.
but reading this shows how much of a good man fergie is, and how he looks after his staff, thats why hes the best because he treats them like a team.

IMO the same goes for the vast majority of stuff written about CR's future (or lack of) at United.
It should be remembered that Ron's grasp of the english language, while improved, is by no means complete and I don't think that has helped.
My reading of what he is attempting to say is he will be staying at United for some time yet but he can make no promises as to the longer term as only God knows what the future holds.
If that is the case I see no statement of conflict there.
All young players have dreams of playing on the biggest stages and Ron has reached the stage in his career where he has proved to everyone that he is capable of playing at the very top of the game.
As the body of the article suggests, I am sure that SAF and CQ will be working hard to convince him that he can achieve his dreams equally as well at United as anywhere else.

of United fans jokes and jibes, Carlos IS THE MAN!
The players love him, he's a
fantastic trainer and coach,
educated in the art of football. Carlos has no problem adulating the great
SAF, these two are a great
team and I only hope at the end of SAF's career we have
the good sense to make Carlos
our manager and in doing so
maintain the legacy and
continuity SAF has built.
As for the headline here,
not sure what they meant except to say I'm sure Ronaldo won't be going anywhere, he looked on top of world this season, happy
and confident as he improves
his game. Real Madrid can go
buy players from Arsenal or
Chelsea, United don't sell
unless SAF says so.
Still on cloud 9 here in Northern California, that warm fuzzy glow of United's
magnificent season just won't
go away (thankfully).

Not Real Madrid, Ronaldo, Ronaldo's mom, or the Glazers.
I never had a fear in my mind with all the speculations and rumors.
As long as Fergie wants to keep Ronaldo, I am willing to place my head on a bet that he WILL stay.

They took the game to penalties, then Terry messed it up,
The team all looked like Avram,
The players were all glum.
And I haven't laughed quite as much since Lampard lost his Mum.

Ronnie will stay as long as SAF is happy with the lad. he may leave in a few years, but I just hope he leaves on good terms.
