Phenomenal, I doubt we'll ever see another manager like him. I hope he stays until we have surpassed Liverpool's league titles and at least equalled their European Cup wins. With the right additions, we could dominate both competitions for the next few years and I'm sure Fergie has already turned his mind to next season.

Congrats Utd. You played marvellous first half, but faded second. Yet you persevered and as usual true to form you did it in the end, even though it was down to penalties. Let no-one say you did not deserve to win, on the night you were the better team.and no-one should say it all comes down to luck. What about previous occasions when referees decisions went again them. Good luck for the two trophies now to be on show, and also now there is some money in the kitty for a damn good striker or two, as we certainly need a couple.
Tonight I will sleep well due to satisfaction.

To be complete you might want to add the European Super Cup for United in 1991, and also for Aberdeen in 1983.

Look at that trophy haul not only with us but with Aberdeen. The way some of our fans go on we've won that stuff in spite of not because of Fergie. I have to get him to pick me some lottery numbers I'll win first go. The man is absolutely incredible, so focused and committed to the job he does for us. I hope he stays with us even when he retires as a manager. Whoever takes over has got his work cut out for him.

That is typical Manc attitude!! Liverpool aspire to being the greatest team in England, Europe. Man Utd aspire to get level with us! Makes me laugh! Thought you was the biggest club in the world!

Must be a bitter pill for you to swallow si 4 kop ,as you couldnt beat Chelsea! As for big clubs how often do Liverlosers get to play in front of 76,000 ,except when visiting OLD TRAFFORD.Also just remind me what has your club won in last 2 seasons?

This man is a LEGEND, pure and simple. No-one comes close. He deserves this. Well done, Sir Alex.

si 4 kop, you should get on message boy. The extent of your manager's ambition is now apparently to just beat United once in his lifetime. Ain't going to happen though, at least not in the league, because you are cup specialists. Only, you didn't actually get to any finals.

I said before that you need a new midfield and backup for your one decent forward. Any luck in recruiting anyone yet? Anyone we might have heard of?

Crawl back into your musty old history book. And then in 10 -15 years when you possibly limp into another major piece of silver again you can be emboldened once more to remove the cobwebs and crawl out to brag about long past accomplishments you probably have no conscious memory of.

If you were really so secure in the *glorious* reputation of your now once in a generation Cup club, you wouldn't be trolling this site so much having your delicate sensibilities tweaked. But I suspect you have to do what you can, realizing as you do that a significant portion of the people who actually witnessed the era when liverfool were a relevant club have died off.

Good luck with Gareth Barry.
