THE Football Association will ask to see "all details and TV footage" of the post-match bust-up between Manchester United players and Chelsea staff.
United substitutes became embroiled in a scuffle with Stamford Bridge groundstaff and stewards in the warm-down following yesterday's 2-1 defeat.
FA spokesman Andrin Cooper revealed the governing body will be looking into the matter, saying: "This will have nothing to do with the referee's report. He would have been in his dressing room a long way from the incident.
"But we will obviously be asking Chelsea to let us see their CCTV footage of the incident."
Chelsea issued a statement after the game saying they would be "reviewing the relevant footage and will be considering the appropriate course of action".
United have also asked to see the pictures so they can consider what action to take.
Patrice Evra, Paul Scholes, John O'Shea, Gerard Pique and Gary Neville were taking part in the warm-down on the pitch when they were asked to move by Chelsea groundstaff.
The row erupted when the players refused to come off the pitch and an altercation broke out between stewards, groundstaff and the United players.

With the FA's past history they'll probably dock us points.
Ferdinand as the next England skipper?
Made for the job with his absolute dignity and respect for the game...
Ferdinand as the next England skipper? Seems like he's made for the yob sorry job !!!
looks like rio ferdinand in picture shows "fingers" to his chance of been england`s new football captain..and it seems to me that manchester united have a hard time getting back in crucial games (except recent blackburn game) when behind in goals..the reaction from sir.alex ferguson (and carlos) and the players after the defeat by chelsea make me embarresed for our club...seems we cannot take defeat well..why in God`s name did we start the most important (crucial)game of this season (to date) against chelsea only needing a draw to win the premier title again and leave(out) our best players (namely) ronaldo tevez hargreaves on the bench..then play silvestre and fletcher and giggs instead..again..let me stress in the most crucial game of this season when we could have wrapped up the premier title and put less pressure on manchester united going into tuesday nights game against barcelona..now we are in the position of facing four games we MUST win to retain our league title and win the champions league cup..alex fergusions team selections this past three months will come back to haunt us in the next couple of weeks..enough said
Is this website (the MEN) edited down in London at the weekends?
Why all the "anti" Man Utd slant to all your stories today???
okay, it wasnt wsie for a candidate captine to such acts...but he had his reasons, and this what football could do to u...
but lets not forget what the other CANDIDATE (TERRY) did at old trafford,
tryin to stop a sending off by grabbing the official's red card isnt wise either!
So this his the face of the franchise is it?
Far be it from me to defend the MEN, but why do you say the reports have an anti-United slant, Mark?
I`m a die hard red and wasn`t happy with the team selection.Rotation is fine if they are tired - Hargreaves - Tired ? Ronaldo - Tired? Tevez - Tired?...................
Fergie dropped a clanger but who are we to argue with a man thats won 9 Premierships.
Come on Utd it`s all in your hands now and we all know we never take the easy route!
Mark we both know if it was edited down in London it wouldn't be ANTI-united would it!
Well done Chelsea, you taught them a footballing lesson!
Corky; The top stories on the Man Utd section today (6pm Sunday) - Ballack gloating, Henry having a pop, Rijkaard plays it again and this ugly picture of Rio. (What about a picture of Ballack snarling in Ronaldo's face yesterday instead??)
Where's the Man Utd angle & comment? Just where are the "Manchester" journos today then, in our supposedly 24/7 media city??
RIO RIO RIO!!!!
They all seem to be fairly straight written reports to me.
I believe United players rarely talk after matches, and Fergie doesn't either, so maybe the MEN has to fill it up with stuff from other people.
Patrick Mcloughlin US of A, we can do without fans like you, where`s your passion for the team, for the sport? Oh, you don`t have any being a Yank? Well go and watch softball or American Football or American Soccer, eat yer popcorn and watch the Cheergirls!
Chelsea will of course only release CCTV coverage that proves our guys were to blame. The prior provoking by their stewards will unfortunately not be usable...
bloody rushens!
amazin how quick you rag fans got back home from the match (oh sorry i forgot mosy rags live in london anyways ) ha ha ha ha city til i die
The FA should 'DOCK' Chelsea and United four points each and perhaps we shall witness the BEST FOOTBALLING SIDE (ARSENAL) in the country winning the TITLE!
There is something seriously wrong with the game at the moment, the amount of bad decisions that go against us and to Chelsea`s advantage, not only in this game but in almost all recent games is way above ANY law of averages.
Something stinks, and I suggest that some bank accounts be subjected to severe scrutiny.
There is a certain Russian with a load of money to throw away to pump up his ego!
It is HIS football league, HE`s pulling all the strings, we don`t have a chance. Bogey decisions against Liverpool in the coming match on Wednesday, West Ham to get a penalty against us whilst VDS gets a red card..... Mafia like deals... can`t happen you say? Well take a look at Italy!
we`ve been sold out and robbed in broad daylight. Russian money has taken over the league, BIG TIME!
It`ll take a couple of years to come out, but it will come out!
Oh my gawd, Old mother Hubbard from Droylsden is back at it. Get a life!
The FA should look into the RED CASH flowing into the game, how many does the Russian have on his payroll?
Frankly I'm appalled !
It was high time the United players piped up. They have been ridiculously well-behaved for too long.
Even at Blackburn, when Rob Styles denied us two cast-iron penalties, decisions so bad he was demoted to the third tier, we didn't have the guts to react. No wonder everybody seem to believe they can treat us as they like.
At Stamford Bridge there were six major decisions, three dubious United offsides, Ronaldo being dragged down in the box, Carrick scythed down from behind in the box, and the Carrick handball. The decisions went in Chelsea's favour 6-0. A 60-40 bias isn't uncommon, but 100-0? Replays show that the Carrick handball was the least obvious penalty by a mile. What's going on here?
Point one: The Telegraph wrote that the assistant ref was "intimidated" by Chelsea fans. Why don't the FA look into that?
Point two: Good to finally see Rio's fighting face. But I am starting to wonder whether he should have rubbed his thumb against the two fingers he holds up. Say no more.
Why did it happen. Is it normal to mow immediately after a game? It certainly isn't good gardening practice. Perchance it was a bit of successful Russian provocation.Patrick Barclay had it rught, United players take instructions from Ferguson - not Chelsea groundstaff and it should finish there.
We weren't good & it was a pen BUT it was also one of those days where everything seemed against us.
That liner on the right touchline with the crowd so close behind gave everything their way all game - he looked like he was bricking it from the first minute! He couldn't wait to get involved & must have loved giving that pen. Headlines, woohoo!! I can't even remember the one on the other side he was normal, not overly keen to get involved, he just concentrated on doing his job! Wiley though is just too fat & can't keep up with play enough. Wes & Dobga had a game of catch in the area & he let play go on ffs! The sweet fa aren't interested in stuff like this though (eg sorting out poor refs etc - like Uriah Rennie) that doesn't get them their 2 mins of fame! Imagine if a utd player had taken a throw in onto a teamates back as Murty? did for Reading this w/e. It'd have been headline news ffs!
We have learned to live with it over the years & it'll never change in the future! We have to use this (& all the stick-on pens we've been denied over the last few weeks) to create a siege mentaility again that will see us over the line!...starting tuesday!
The last few matches of the season, crucial matches that can decide the the winners of the Premiership, and, the winners of the European Championship.Your co/central defender has been carried off with a nasty facial injury, your star forward is substituted with hip and groin injuries.Your captain of the club, captain of England, what do you do, easy try to kick a wall.Luckily Goofy missed (how do you miss a wall) and caught a lady steward.Thats all the manager needs more metatarsal injuries.I know I'm a blue but just think about his actions for a minute, and the dire consequencies if he had actually hit the wall.Doubt he was wearing Stan Mathews co-op boots with a steel toe cap.
