Reds boss Sir Alex Ferguson jetted to Johannesburg following the derby defeat to promoted the Vodacom Challenge tournament between the Reds and South African sides Kaiser Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
United will kick-off with a match against the Chiefs in Cape Town at the Newlands Stadium on July 19. They will then face the Pirates in Durban on July 22 in the Absa Stadium.
Port Elizabeth stage the `Soweto Derby' between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs with the winners meeting United again in the final.
The showpiece final is expected to be played in front of a sell-out crowd at the Loftus Stadium in Tshwane on Saturday, 26 July.
United took part in the 2006 Vodacom Challenge, beating Orlando Pirates 4-1 and Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 before losing the final to the Chiefs 4-3 on penalties after the match ended 0-0.
"The 2008 Vodacom Challenge will create a platform for many a rising star to elevate their play in order to strive to become a regular member of the Manchester United starting line-up," said Sir Alex.
With England out of this summer's Euro 2008 tournament, the Reds will have many of the big names on show. Tweet
