The Serbia centre-half was absent for the 3-1 FA Cup fourth round win over Tottenham yesterday and manager Sir Alex Ferguson has already raised doubts over the 26-year-old's participation in the Pompey match.
"Vidic had a virus so he didn't play against Spurs," he told MUTV.
"The doctor went to see him yesterday and he was quite poorly. In fact, his whole family aren't too good at the moment.
"We'll see what he's like during the week but whether he'll be ready for Wednesday, I don't know."
How important is Vidic to United? Have your say.

We all knew that City's bubble would burst eventually. Who would have guessed a failure to burst something would be the final nail in the coffin?
