Real admit Ronnie is out of reach

REAL Madrid sporting director Predrag Mijatovic admits it is virtually impossible that Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo will be playing for the Spanish giants in the future.

Ronaldo has been repeatedly linked with Real over the last couple of years, but has himself to a long-term contract at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese ace agreed a five-year contract extension with United last year, tying him to Old Trafford until 2012.

"Of course it would not be bad for us to have a player like Cristiano Ronaldo, but he is at a great club like Manchester United. I see it as an impossible signing," Mijatovic told Radio Marca.

Hum thats the language clubs use when they are prepare to bid....Ronaldo is having an amazing season again and United look like they can win a couple of titles these year. Playing with great partnership. Why should he leave now? Real had their chance after the world cup when CR had his troubles with the brittish media but even then SAF never wanted to sell him. United doesn't need the money because the investment made in Ronaldo as been already paid a few times and his marketing value is above any other player in the world. I've changed my mind, not even the climate can be an excuse to move from United now. Real is a big club and comming from Portugal I understand the "dream" but reaching the level he has at a club like United being able to be a legend at Best's/B.Charlton's level I would really consider to stay for a long,long period.

To be fair Mijatovic himself must get fed up of the expectation that every big name should be at the club regardless of whether it makes them better as a team. Real are doing extremely well this season as it is. Everyone loves quality but to go over the top trying to get more players must disrupt the current team. Then again it might be the calm before the storm.

I wonder who is giving Ronaldo guidance these days. If it is Queiroz or SAF himself that is a good thing so long as he continues to improve and the evidence so far has been positive. To reach the very highest levels you need mentors you can trust around you. You saw with Anelka what could happen when you get the wrong advice early on your career.

I was wondering if Ronnie has the potential to become Uniteds all time top scorer.

If he carries on like he is then there is no reason why he couldnt.(Same with Rooney)

The point is if he is still here at 27 and isnt far away, do you think he would want to leave for Madrid or become our all time top scorer?

I think the latter which could rule him out of a move.

Real are a joke of a club and don't want to embarrass themselves even with an attempt to sign our player. We would murder Real on the pitch any day of the week. Ronnie's not daft.

Hey Guys,Real just want to play it down.They will never stop tempting this guy.But people shouldnt blame ronnie,just watch him.He plays his heart out.He loves United.People only concenterate on part of his statement.that is his admiration for La Liga.They fail to say that he also said he doesnt think it would be possible to move from United.I think he only said that because he was cheated at Best player Awards since he was begining to believe the myth that EPL players can never be world best. Also i never see United selling their greatest asset at the moment.CQ especially will be against it,and SAF is not a fool.

Cristiano's mother has been quoted as saying that she would like to see her son play for Real Madrid before she dies. I'm willing to be that Ronnie is a mama's boy so let's hope she doesn't get sick anytime soon.

This is a clear case of reverse psychology, hoping that either Ronaldo or Fabrecas panic into pleading for a move before Real lose interest. As if they would ever lose interest in two of the best players in the world.
A typical Real underhand move using the media to stir things up and unsettle players without having to make an official approach.
