Kuszczak - Could do nothing about West Ham's two goals but was generally sound otherwise, although his kicking could be better 6
Brown - Full back was generally solid in defence but his distribution often let him down
6
Ferdinand - For three quarters of the game he looked in complete control on his old stomping ground but will not have been happy to concede two goals from set pieces 6
Vidic - Serbian nullified the aerial threat of Carlton Cole in the first half but he too will have been disappointed with West Ham's goals
7
Evra
- He was unusually shaky and his sloppiness might have cost United twice in the first half. It was his foul that led to West Ham's winner
6
Ronaldo
- Rose to give United a rather fortunate lead in the first half, but his penatly miss was the turning point of the match on a day when the winger was unusually quiet
7
Fletcher - As busy as ever but struggled to dominate alongside Hargreaves 7
Hargreaves - Never really got into the match when confronted with a particularly lively West Ham midfield 6
Giggs - One of the rare bright spots for United. His movement and cross led to Ronaldo's goal and he worked tirelessly when moved into the centre of midfield
7
Tevez
- Given a fine welcome on his first return to Upton Park but while he worked as hard as ever rarely troubled the West Ham defence
7
Saha - A disappointing showing after his two goals against Sunderland. The Frenchman was largely shackled by the outstanding Upson 6
Subs
Anderson (for Tevez, 64) - United were crying out for composure in midfield but the Brazilian had little impact
6
Nani (For Hargreaves, 80) - Came on as United desperately sought to salvage points but rarely looked likely to make a telling contribution
6
O'Shea
(for Brown, 89) - Too late to mark
Subs not used - Tom Heaton, Gerard Pique
Referee: Mike Dean - Tried to let the game flow
