Manchester United

Preview: Bolton v United

Wayne Rooney

WAYNE Rooney has been pencilled in to make his Manchester United comeback against Fulham on December 3.

Rooney suffered an ankle injury in a freak training ground accident at Carrington a fortnight ago and was initially ruled out for a month.

However, while Sir Alex Ferguson denied reports the 22-year-old had already returned to training, he did confirm Rooney should be fit to face the Cottagers a week on Monday.

"Wayne did some light running yesterday and is doing well. He won't be fit for the match against Bolton tomorrow or Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday but he should be fine for Fulham."

Ferguson confirmed skipper Gary Neville will make an appearance for the Red Devils' second string next week as he steps up his battle back from a series of muscular problems.

However Ferguson was happy to report Carlos Tevez is fit and ready to face Bolton at the Reebok Stadium, rejecting completely reports from Argentina that the forward was 'feeling tired'.

Apart from long-term injury victims Paul Scholes, Park Ji-sung, Mikael Silvestre and Ben Foster (all knee) Ferguson's only doubt for tomorrow is defender Nemanja Vidic.

The Serbian has been released from international duty but picked up a knock against Poland which could see Wes Brown start at centre-half alongside Rio Ferdinand.

Bolton are set to welcome back top scorer Nicolas Anelka for the game.

The former Manchester City striker has missed the last four games due to a hamstring injury but was used as a substitute for France against Morocco last weekend and came through unscathed.

Manager Gary Megson has no major injury concerns from the international break and can also bring back El-Hadji Diouf following a one-match ban.

First choice really apart from Rooney for Saha.

I saw Bolton against Bayern and they had like only 4 chances and scored 2 goals !!!. They will sit and wait.

Bolton must be due a decent home performance against us, so I expect a tough game, especially if Vidic is out. It's the type of game where a draw would not be that much of a surprise. Bolton may be struggling but they do have the players and pedigree of a good side.
Davies and Anelka are very good strikers and a real hand full, plus Douf is very under-rated but very, very skillful. This is the sort of game where 3 points is a great result!
Bolton will have their moments this season that's for sure but we do seem to have the old Indian sign over them, so let's hope that continues.
4-0 again, I can't see that! More like 1-0, but as I said a really good 3 points none the less shoulld we achieve it. Saha to score for me.

Bolton Bayern is not a good guide, Bayern is not in form at the moment, and when Bolton scored their second, Bayern were only running on reserve tank.

We`re gonna stuff èm 4 - 0 again...

on paper we should give bolton a sound beating but with anelka in top-form and the possibility of vidic being out and the actuality of rooney being out it could be a tougher game than paper suggests. what i'm most concerned about is the arrival of megson, bolton are starting to look better under him and this is the type of game,at home, they will go hell for leather to try to get something. still,if we get the early breakthrough i predict 3-0.

Where is that team that SAF said we had. I said the other day what we need, and also need some doubles for injury and resting. What a disgrace against the bottom teams. We still, I insist, a new striker is still needed and a new defender.
