The charge relates to the conduct of Chelsea players towards referee Mike Dean following the dismissal of midfielder Mikel John Obi.
Assistant first-team coach Steve Clarke has also admitted a charge of using abusive and/or insulting words towards the match officials at the end of the game at Old Trafford, which United won 2-0.
Both the club and Clarke have requested personal hearings which will be scheduled in due course. Tweet

Something really has to be done. OK,Wazza and Scholesy have got away with murder in the past.
But John Terry is the England captain and what he did was disgraceful. Asfor Jon Obi Mikel, I've said elsewhere that he was a near miss for us. He will get plenty of red cards in the future. His tackling can be downright dangerous.
But Chelsea have definitely go away with murder. Look at their track records on tapping (including the players they 'bought off'), harassing the ref (especially that Barcelona debacle) and the many accusations Mourinho made in the past.
By now, United would have had at least a points deduction. I don't like Kenyon and I think he bears some responsibility as Chief Exec for the way Chelsea push the boundaries all the time.
So, a fine won't do. Rugby Union and League players never harass the ref. On Saturday England got marched back 10 yards just because a player queried a decision. We do not have sufficient respect for officials.
So, it's time to get tough. Hit Terry for touching the ref (3 match ban at least); hit the club with a £500k fine; and implement their current suspended 3 point deduction.
Then go further and ban players retrospectively for diving and dangerous play, irrespective of what the refs decision was on the day.
Refs get £100k a year. They are doing their best (like Darren) and don't deserve the constant abuse they get. We need more respect for authority in this country and it's time football took a stand with it's 10m following! Cheers.
Sack Clark, put Chelsea down 2 divisions
go on you RAGS start harping on about a points deduction ha ha ha it wont matter start worrying about Arsenal,Liverpool and MAN CITY???????
It will be interesting to see the outcome of this as its a Southern Club.Remember Arsenals slap on the wrist after the disgraceful scenes at OT afew seasons ago.
Lets see the fa dock them points.
Do the fa have the balls.
Are we being asked to comment on what the fine will be? is there any chance that the FA will look at Chelsea's record of abusive behavious over the past three years? No. So what is the point of the excercise? Finally, why does it take so long. The deal has been cut. Admit your guilt and we slap your fingers. Finally, do we have to look at a picture of Mikel having a pick?
I did remember there being a bit of consternation after Obi-Mikel went off but what should really happen with Chelsea is there should be another investigation launched into Abramovich's finance and tax record ( in Switzerland or Monaco or somewhere with judges who are too rich to bribe [ are you ever too rich to bribe?])
A money fine will be no punishment at all. Fine the spivs points.
The Chelskis must have been feeling the pressure.
Roman had an ecstatic day yesterday;Russia 2 England 1.He never looks that happy at Chelski. He should return to Russia and buy a club that he can put his heart into.
I think most United fans would agree that Mikel was very unfortunate to get an instant red for that challenge. It looked a lot worse than it actually was.
Had it been a United player we would have all been a bit miffed. Cole got away with an even worse one later on?
Yo ted, always knew you were bitter but only now do we know how much. Poor, poor ted; the bitterest bitter from Council house land.
I do not want to see points deducted from Chelsea.
Much better we finish above them again without any help from the FA. That will REALLY hurt them!
Terry, you're comments are fine and most 'sensible' folk would agree but it has to start applying accross the board - all teams, all divisions, all leagues. Only then will we have true respect in our game.... but we all know it won't ! The powers that be are too scared to make a stance & so it will continue in perpetuity !!
Tied in a knott again ..... Utd fans don't worry about any team, least of all council dwelling bitters !! - & before your inane reply arrives - you have to be bitter to be forever on a red site ! LOL
mylifeinthe mafia deary deary me I'm just pointing out a FACT whats bitter about that? as for 'The council house' well we have a 250 year lease on it you'll never see us evicted nor me for that matter we have no debts WHATSOEVER and our WONDERFUL Chairman has billions of pounds not all may I add on City but ENOUGH to ensure MCFC will compete with the best within three years and the chance of going into debt again? NOT A CAT IN HELL'S CHANCE! Hmmmmm Uniteds debt (sorry Glazers) £660 MILLiON!!!!!!!!! stop worrying about CITY will you it will drag you down my bitter sad rag!
YES Terry the Premiership refs do their best Hmmmmm YES to ensure United are always near the top - FACT!
My my ,calm down Bertie Knott ,its only football after all .I can almost see you foaming at the mouth in your latest frenzied attack on United .Lets hope you havent been like that for last 31 years,or you will damage your health!!!!
Gerra life Ted!
You learn something everyday ,now the FA co-operates with United all the time, according to Ted "Bertie"Knott. For instance they play a late Kick-off Saturday at Villa then fulfill a European fixture Tuesday in Kiev.United kick off at every time but 3pm this season ,play Wednesdays in Europe, then have 12 -45 pm kick off on Saturdays frequently. The co-operation is astounding ,and thanks Mr Knott, with your stupendous ,unbiased knowledge, for enlightening us all.If and when city compete in Europe ,we will see how it works out for them.
Ted Knott excels himself this time by his childish remarks .The rubbish he spouts on this occasion could fill several wheeliebins in Tameside ,but it wouldnt be worth recycling.
Grow up Mr .Knott ,you sound like a baby thats dropped its dummy!
Bitter Mr.Knott expels enough hot air to inflate hundreds of city famous Bananas. My advice also, stopping eating lemons ,too many will make you permanently sour.
Pity that we didnt have a ref influenced by FA when obnoxious city player Ball blatantly stamped on Ronaldo last season, and didnt get dismissed .Forgotten that MR Knott?
Just like Balders predicted, wholly inane!
Ted you and Mike should go move in together, you'd both be very happy. One as boring as the other, you might cancel each other out
Oh dear bitter Ted, are your wrists not aching from all that exercise you are giving them? How is your lonely life living all alone in your council house in droylsden. You are a sad bitter, who's hatred for United goes across the bounderies of football. You are all mouth, hiding behind your keyboard. Get a life you muppet!
