UNITED skipper Gary Neville expects United to show their true form over the coming weeks with the return of three key attacking weapons.
The Reds have struggled in the early weeks of the season despite their pre-season tag of title favourites.
Draws against Reading and Portsmouth, followed by a defeat in the derby at City, meant that United's title defence was almost over before it had begun. However, Sir Alex Ferguson's team have rallied and are now just two points behind the Premiership leaders.
And with Louis Saha approaching full fitness, Cristiano Ronaldo available after a ban and Wayne Rooney closing on a return from his broken foot, Neville is confident his side can begin to impose themselves on the Premier League.
He told MUTV: “It’s been difficult for us not having three of our forwards available. You could see in the last game the difference Louis made when he came on, and I think with Wayne coming back soon I’m sure we’ll get even stronger.
"We have to make sure we don’t fall too behind the leaders at this stage.”
Neville added: “Cristiano getting suspended obviously added to our problems.
"But I think it will all come together in the next few weeks. Hopefully we'll pick up the level of performance and get back to freescoring ways.”

Saha, Giggs, Tevez and Ronnie on the same pitch will be a massive threat to any team. We've already seen how rock solid we are at the back (i.e. last two games) and how dominant we can be in central midfield (i.e. against the berties).
All that we've been missing is some more options up front.
With Garv Neville (who, IMO, has been missed as much as, if not more than, anybody) and Rooney due back next weekend, I can't see anything else other than a return to the swash-buckling football of last season. And sooner, rather than later.
Bring it on.
