The Frenchman's first Premiership goal since last December was heaven-sent for the Reds.
"I have to thank God. He helped me through a very difficult period," said Louis.
"I have had a lot of criticism, which was fair. I am just happy to be back in the team once more. It is brilliant. It has been a long time. I was just happy to be back on the pitch but to score that goal is immense."
Saha, who allegedly consulted a sports psychologist to help him overcome the mental side of injury, admits he has a formula that would ensure his injury-prone reputation ended.
But the 29-year-old refuses to implement the scheme.
"I know exactly how not to get injured, it is to play without full commitment," he says.
Confidence
"But I won't do that. I can't do it. If things like this happen, it is because of the game. United players always play at 100% so I am just happy to be playing.
"It was my first 45 minutes. I had a couple of small games in training but nothing compared to that. I feel great. Now I just need more games to give me more confidence.
"I am looking to try and get fitter over the next two weeks. It is an amazing chance for me. It is a good opportunity.
"The keeper made a great save just before I scored. The main thing is to score. It was a great corner from Nani. I just closed my eyes!"
Sir Alex Ferguson appreciated Saha's contribution.
"We didn't want to start Louis but at half-time I thought he was needed," he said.
"He brings that speed and penetration to the front line, different from the other players."
Ferguson admitted the attack struggled at times.
"We do lack penetration because Carlos Tevez is not playing in his best position," added Sir Alex.
"You have to look at the front four. They have never played with each other. We have Nani at 20, Tevez 23, Anderson 19 and Eagles 20. There is a lot of immaturity there."
What do you think? Have your say.

A lot of things have been said about Saha, some critisim is just, but i think he showed us all on saturday what he is all about. Strenght, pace and with vision and alot of bravery !! Scoring goals and being a constant threat..hopefully he can stay fit for the rest of the season and give us 20+ goals..Welcome back Loius ! You have my support !!

But thankfully he’s ok! But as we know he’s not always ok! To have not brought anyone in is a big surprise to many, who knows the real reason why we didn’t. The lack of any additional money and the need to try and balance the incomings and outgoings is a possible cause, but I believe the right person was not available for the money we were looking to pay. Short sighted or foolish only time will tell, but we have to make do with what we have got, at least until January. Lets hope that when January comes we have no need to strengthen. A lot now rests on Louis’ shoulders, let’s all hope he is up to the task and come the end of the season, we are all celebrating with tears of happiness rather than tears of sadness!

Please please try not to get injured before at least Rooney is back

Save your bitterness for rowing with those pesky Mancunians!

Having said that, I do think SAF is going to try again for Berbatov in the Summer, maybe even in January depending on what goes on at Spurs. With Saha back and with Ronaldo and Rooney coming back soon I can see great things on the horizon. Chelsea getting beaten rather than jammily nicking a draw is also a good sign.
We all know what this game is like - we played well in our first three games and got two points, played badly in our last two and got six. Thing's will click again, we just have to be patient.
