why have we sold 4 strikers and bought only one? why start the season with only one fit striker? why have we not bought a left winger to replace giggs? why was rossi not given a proper chance at united say 150 games like fletcher say?
Why have we sold 2 goal machines in the last two season RVN and Rossi, and now we are with only one striker fit (Tevez). Big mistake to sell Rossi, he was the future or should have been the future for Utd. Seems you have only yourself to blame for the lack of fire power, and two of the 4 player brought in this year broke their legs last year another big risk.
Why did you really change your mind about retiring & will you stay on in some capacity when you eventually stand down?
Is Dong just in a United shirt for far eastern Marketing policy or do you believe in him as a potential Premier League player?
Are your doors still open to a new signing before the transfer window closes or do you believe that your squad is good enough for the upcoming season.
Thanks for last season
Chris C
Why are United forwards usually so wasteful in front of goal, especially when shooting from outside the small box? Why do we not get more Nani type goals ? It is interesting to note that such goals as there were, for and against United this season, have come from a distance, and not from closer in, which gets to be more difficult when defences pack their areas
What is the logic behind your transfer strategy this summer - in the past few years you have sold Ruud Van Nistillrooy, Alan Smith, Diego Forlan, Giessepe Rossi and ole has now retired - during that period you have only brought in rooney, tevez and larsson on a short term loan.....? - you were the very man who highlighted the benefit of having 4 top class strikers available for selection...... Currently we have rooney injured and tevez looking absolutely lost after 3 full matches.. your only out and out striker is louis saha, a man who has proved himself a complete liability from both a physical and mental perspective over the last couple of years...... i think myself and a lot of utd fans would love to know why you havnt bought an out and out striker this summer?
Why have you abandoned the 4-4-2 system of play? Our most successful periods were when we played it.
Is 442 pretty much redundant now? Will it be used other than for home games against the likes of Derby? Are the days when we would play away in Europe, like in '99, and field a 442 gone?
Sir Alex, you can probably tell that most fans seem to be unhappy with the striker situation. At the beginning of the season, it was already known that OGS was struggling and that Saha is a constant injury problem. With the sale of Smith and Rossi that only left Rooney and at that time the hopefully incoming Tevez which has materialised. But Tevez is not a goal scoring machine. Why is it that we are already in a crisis at the beginning of the season, 5 points behind Chelsea and all due to a lack of strikers?
bobbyd, we have bought Nani to replace Giggs, which I'm surprised you've not noticed!
As to the other geezer, to call Rossi a 'goal machine' is hugely disingenuous given that he was utterly unproven in the Prem. And the sale of Ruud is accepted as good business by pretty much every long-standing United fan, as he was having a negative effect on morale and on the style of play.
That said, we have started this season without an out-and-out striker and that is clearly a mistake, although, if we're fair, who thought we'd suffer a goal drought with Nani, Anderson and Tevez added to the squad in the summer? I don't recall seeing many complaints one here, although, as usual, it's very easy to come worming out of the woodwork, negativity blazing, after the fact...
When will the Brazilains twins Rafael and Fabio Silva be joining the club? And when they do, will they be loaned out?
As far as Manchester United is concerned, everything is in perfect place. But when we look at the start of last year's campaign, Saha was flourishing and he was the focal point of our attack. He was somebody that could get a shot in on goal from any height or angle.
We are lacking that this season. United's wingers lose their vareity when there is no one in the box to aim at. It is a request as a United supporter to fulfill this role, especially since or very own silent assassin has now bid audieu to professional football.
United looked all set for a title defence, but there is one very distinct difference from last year. At the start, last year, Saha was flourishing and he was the focal piont of the united attack. He was a player who would at least hit the target from any height or angle.
Not having a poacher in the box has depleted the vareity of the wingers. They can now be anticipated as they won't cross it in the air. We need to sort this out and if a player like Saha can have two defenders marking him, then room is freed up for players like rooney and tevez. We have seen in the past two matches that Tevez has no space to work in. How do you plan to solve this niggle?
is there any chance or bringing in a striker or 2, there are many good strikers out there but which ones do you like, also did you ever consider darren bent before he moved to spurs?
SAF why did you allow Tothernham to beat you twice in the transfer market. Berbatov and Bale? They would have made the difference.
Sir Alex, teams are coming to Old Trafford with the intention of pulling everyone back in defence at every opportunity and trying to snatch a point. How do you overcome this problem?
Do you think now selling Smith and Rossi was too early, given the striker's crisis we have now?
Sir Alex
It is many years since the Youth Team produced an English striker with the quality to play in the 1st team. Was the last one Andy Ritchie? Why is this the case do you think?
What qualities do you look for when attempting to buy a player? And is it more difficult to play for Manchester United than other premiership teams, and if so why?
Vidic jumped out of the way for Citys winner last week when he should have charged the shot down with his chest or if needs be even taken the ball full in the face to save a goal.
Ferdinand did the same thing in the first min of the game with Spurs to a shot from Robbie Keane which hit the crossbar and could easily have gone in our net.
I could undestand youngsters of eight or nine not wanting to get hurt by the ball but these two are our big strapping centre backs.
I feel sure you are not prepared to tolerate what is quite simply basic cowardice and would be interested to know how you plan to get both Vidic and Ferdinand to put themselves in the line of fire when neccesary for the team.
Have you heard of the idea for commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Munich tragedy by having the team play in an EXACT replica of the 58 kit for the home match nearest to the 6th of february 2008, with no PL,Nike or AIG logos as a poignant tribute to those who were killed. If you have heard of the idea would you personally support it if it were feasable?
You've always been focused in identifying where mistakes have been made or areas for improvement. With Saha's injury problems and Solskjaer's retirement, do you feel you could have done more to keep hold of the club's other devastating finisher - Guiseppi Rossi?

Sir Alex, between Robson and Keane, assuming that both are at their best, who do you think is a better player? And why?
